ABOUT DEPARTMENT

Instrumentation Engineering Department is established in 1996

with the intake capacity of 40. Under the Gondwana University,

Gadchiroli this is the only institute which offers a UG program in

Instrumentation Engineering. This department has strong team of

dedicated and committed faculty members who have done their

UG & PG degrees from the top-notch institutes. The faculty

members of this department are consistently doing well in

teaching and research. The department has well equipped

laboratories like Sensors, Process Control, Electronics, Analytical

Instrumentation, Measurement & Control, Microprocessor &

Microcontroller, Computers and Biomedical Instrumentation

Laboratories. The department has the latest simulation tools to

cater to various specializations and is equipped with facilities for

measurement, control and synthesis of experimental as well as

theoretical results. Department has incurred total expenditure on

the equipments of about Rs. 1.83 Crore since inception. Under the

Instrumentation Engineering Student Association (IESA),

students organizes various curricular, extra-curricular and

trainings activities. In this department, the student gets focused on

soft-skills training, Industrial trainings and various competitive

examinations to enable their true inner qualities to shine through.

Welcome Fresher’s

All the 2ND

and 3RD

year

student had arranged the

‘welcome fresher 2k16’ to

welcome all the 1st year

student. The fresher was

arranged on the 3rd

sept.

2016. The program was

started with lighting of lamp

by all the faculty of the

department. The eco-friendly

felicitation of all the faculty

and IESA member was the

speciality of fresher party.

The function started with

speech by our Head of

department followed by

cultural events like dancing

& singing. There was a

beautiful introduction by first

year students. All the third

year and final year student

enjoyed various events during

the program. At the end Mr.

freshers and Mrs. freshers

was selected from 1st year

and 2nd

year class followed

by delicious lunch for all the

student and common musical

dance.

Industrial visit

20th and 22nd

SEPTEMBER 2016

The students of 3rd

year and final year were fortunate

to visit industries in JALGAON and

MUMBAI respectively.Supreme

Industries Limited is India’s largest

plastic processor based in

Jalgaon,Maharashtra.The students

were trained about pipe cuttings

and SCADA programming of the

whole plant. Rastriya Chemicals

and Fertilizers

Limited(RCF),Mumbai is one of the

most revered public sector

undertaking in India. A Mini Ratna

Company,it has two

manufacturing units ,one at

Trombay, in Mumbai-which has

completed 50 excellent years in

the fertilizers and chemicals

domain –and the other at Thal in

the Raigad district of Maharashtra.

The students learned the working

of Distributed Control System in

plant and how the whole plant is

operated on Distributed Control

System.

Workshop was conducted on PLC and DCS by

Krish Infotech, Nagpur from 27th August 2016 to

3rd September 2016 for the students of third

year and final year. The team from Krish Infotech

had come and acknowledged the students about

the PLC and DCS programming and the students

enthusiastically learned and worked on different

types of PLC programming and DCS introduction

and programming. For the students of 3rd year,

SCADA was also arranged. The outcome of this

workshop was fruitful and is benefited the

students in one way or the other. As in process

industries in automation, PLC and SCADA is must

therefore this workshop will definitely turn into

a fruitful beneficial one for students said by HOD

of department.
