Departmental Festival
SYNERGY 2015 (Inter Collegiate Finance festival)
The students of Banking and Insurance department lived up to their crafted motto, “Energise, Enrich, Empower” emerging larger and grander than ever before setting up new levels.
SYNERGY 2015 was an amalgamation of the spirit of altruism, joy and knowledge. The fest wasn’t just for a day, it started with the students organising an event for NGO kids on 28th November,2015.
SYNERGY- A Ray of Hope (Social Initiative) (28th November'15)
Giving full justice to the adage “Service to mankind, is service to god”, the students of B.Com (Banking and insurance) of SIES college, Nerul kick started the pre celebration of their departmental fest ‘SYNERGY’ with a social initiative named “RAY OF HOPE”, which was held on 28th November, where 60-70 under-privileged children from 3 NGO’s namely Seva Sahayog (Nerul), Amruth Prerna (Seawoods) and Blessings (Seawoods) visited the college to celebrate the joy of life.
As a part of the interaction, activities like GK quiz, talent hunt competition which included singing, dancing and drawing competition and some games like Bucket and the Ball game, Musical Chair and the Straw game were also conducted for the kids. Winners in each competition were given prizes to encourage these underprivileged children. A small token of momento was also distributed to make it more memorable day.
Apart from the games, to make sure they received adequate food, we even conducted Foodgrain (Rice & Wheat) donation drive for a week where a total of 750kgs of rice and wheat was collected with help of students, teaching and non teaching staff of our college. 125kgs of wheat and 125 kgs of rice were donated to each of 3 NGO's.
THE PRE-EVENT & THEME RELEASE (11th December'15)
To make sure that SYNERGY reaches each and every student, the team came up with an idea for a very uniquely themed Pre-Event and Theme Release for which they worked extremely hard. It was unique because the students decided to think out of the box again like last year and organised flash mob in form of enacting acts of events and release of theme “ENRICH INDIA”. The idea behind the pre-event was to promote the festival and tell people what SYNERGY 2015 has to offer this year through its theme. This idea was hugely appreciated by the viewers.
After the successful completion of social initiative - Ray of Hope and pre-event, the Synergy team enthusiastically organised its 7th inter collegiate one day financial festival on 15th December, 2015.
