Department of Microbiology CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF HARYANA (ACCREDITED WITH ‘A’ GRADE BY NAAC) ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Central University of Haryana is a Central University established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 of the Parliament. It is one of the 15 Central Universities established by MHRD, GoI under the XIth Five Year Plan (2007- 12). The university has been awarded with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 2015 under the umbrella of School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Life Sciences with the aim to impart high quality education to the students in the field of Microbiology. The updated course curricula is designed to prepare the researchers and teachers for universities, research institutes under ICAR, CSIR, DRDO, ICMR, BIS etc. and entrepreneurs in different areas. The Department of Microbiology offers 31 seats in M.Sc. Program and 9 seats in Ph.D. program. OBJECTIVES: To provide theoretical as well as research-oriented training to the masters’ and doctoral students. To provide public awareness regarding the merits and demerits of microbes and microbial products in the fields of agriculture, food, health and environment. To perform quality research focusing on Microbiology and other interdisciplinary fields.
