Graduate Opportunities
Texas Tech Sport Management Program – Graduate Application Reminder
The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas Tech University is
accepting applications for our M.S. in Sport Management. We recently removed our
GRE requirement for applicants to provide greater access to graduate-level education
for students interested in pursuing a career in sport. The graduate program in sport
management prepares students for careers in the sport industry. Students will acquire
theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas such as sport marketing,
facility and event management, sport social issues, sport ethics, leadership, and
financial management in sport.
In collaboration with the TTU School of Law, a student may complete a dual
degree program comprised of 114 credit hours (with 12 hours shared between each
degree for an actual total of 90 credit hours) and graduate with a J.D. and M.S. in Sport
Management. This year-round, full-time program can be completed in six academic
semesters and two summers. In addition, we also have students pursuing a dual master’s
degree with M.S. in Sport Management and M.B.A. through Texas Tech’s Rawls College
of Business. This dual degree program enables students to obtain a M.S. in Sport
Management and the 42-hour M.B.A. in two years. Application first should be made to
the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management. This dual program requires 12 to
24 fewer hours than if both degrees are pursued separately.
Graduates of the M.S. in Sport Management have been successful securing
employment with organizations such as the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Texas Tech
Athletics, EDS Byron Nelson Championship, and many others. We are still accepting
applications for the Summer/Fall semesters, with the financial aid priority deadline set for
March 15th. To apply, please click the following link: applytexas.org
