About us Biotechnology Engineering at University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak was established in the year 2005. This department is one of the pioneer institutes offering undergraduate engineering degree in Biotechnology (B.Tech.), post graduate engineering degree in Biotechnology (M.Tech.) and research program in Biotechnology (Ph.D.). The department has a blend of qualified and experienced faculty members with diverse specialization and research interests and also involved in research projects sponsored by various funding agencies (DST-SERB, DBT, UGC etc.)
Laboratory Facilities Department has well equipped and established laboratories for molecular biology, genetic engineering, genetics, plant tissue culture, biochemistry, industrial microbiology, fermentation technology and bioinformatics. Departmental facilities include Plant Tissue Culture room, Bioinformatics lab, Bioreactor (Sartorius), Real Time PCR (BioRad), Gradient PCR (BioRad), FTIR (Bruker), Gel Doc (BioRad), CO2 incubator (BioRad), HPLC (Younglin), Fluorescence microscope, -80oC and -20oC freezers, rotary vacuum evaporators, hybridization oven, lyophilizer, refrigerated centrifuges, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, ELISA reader, Laminar air flow, biosafety cabinet, and all the basic infrastructure facilities. The Department of Biotechnology engineering also involved in organizing seminars, training programs, industrial visits, workshop from time to time.
