goal of achieving closed-loop systems, DSM has adopted the Cradle to Cradle® concept as part of itssustainability strategy. DSM Engineering Materials is also actively replacing hazardous materials,particularly by introducing halogen-free alternatives, such as Arnitel® XG (used in consumerelectronics cables), Stanyl® ForTii™ (especially in electronic connectors), and Arnite® XG (used inelectrical insulation in white goods).

In 2011 DSM started a Joint Venture with KuibyshevAzot OJSC in which DSM has a majority share. Thejoint venture relates to marketing and sales of engineering materials (Volgalon) in Russia and othermembers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and secondly for the production ofengineering plastics compounds (Volgaplast) in a plant located in Togliatti (Russia).

In 2015 DSM started a Joint Venture with NHU for the market development and manufacturing ofhigh performance plastics compounds based on polyphenylene sulphide, PPS. Also a Joint Ventureis started with Ascend Performance Materials Inc. to form a global strategic alliance for the supplyof compounds based on polyamide 66 (PA66).

II. Sustainability

Sustainability means different things to different people. At DSM we define it as meeting the needsof the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their ownneeds – which in turn means boosting economic prosperity, environmental quality and socialresponsibility for the benefit of people, planet and profit.

By 2050 there will be nine billion of us living on this planet. As a species we are growing, we areaging, but most importantly, we are changing. Unfortunately, the modern world that man has helpedto create isn’t always ideal for sustaining a stable and prosperous future.

This is precisely why sustainability is now our fundamental business driver. Virtually everything wedo is now being driven by sustainability and the need to identify the major global challenges andtrends, and then solve them for our customers. We therefore embrace what’s known as the Triple Pconcept: People, Planet and Profit.

People

Our brand promise is to create brighter lives for people today and for generations to come. Thatmeans improving lives through our activities, products and innovations. It also means sustainingand even saving lives. For example, our work with the World Food Programme is a true socialpartnership where our MixMe® nutrient package has helped tackle hidden hunger for some 10million people and counting. Our solutions also benefit people in many other ways, from materialsused in life protection gear like helmets and vests, to biomedical products that are extending activelife.

Planet

We only have one planet, and we need to make it last. Therefore, today an overwhelming majority ofthe products in our innovation pipeline are ECO+. In other words, they have a smaller carbonfootprint than equivalent products, while providing greater value and benefits. From world-recordbreaking coatings for solar cells, to solvent-free paints, to plastics made from castor and rapeseedoil instead of mineral oil (some of which are also halogen-free) – this is the fruit of our labors.Meanwhile, we continue to make our own manufacturing processes – in fact, entire value chains –more energy efficient and less wasteful. For example, we’re on target to improve our energyefficiency by 1% annually until 2030.

Profit

DSM is a business, so naturally, our activities need to be economically sustainable. Many of ourECO+ products - from plastics to natural food enzyme ingredients - offer superior and innovativeprocessing benefits that are not only carbon and energy efficient but also cost efficient. Retention of top position rankings in SHE and sustainability is an important element of theCorporate sustainability targets. Since 2004, DSM has been recognized among the Dow JonesSustainability World Index leaders for 15 years running and held the number one position eighttimes.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes tracks the performance of the leading sustainability-drivencompanies worldwide through a thorough assessment of companies’ economic, environmental andsocial performance and accounts for more than 50 general as well as industry-specific criteria ineach sector. III. Quality Assurance

Quality Policy

DSM Engineering Materials is committed to supply innovative and competitive products and servicesto enable success of our customers.

Our Total Quality policy aims at continuous improvement in order to achieve a zero-defect situationas a long-term vision.

The Total Quality approach implies constant and continual involvement and commitment of allpeople of all levels, which is fully in line with the Triple P: People, Planet, Profit approach of DSM.

Quality Management System

In 2018 DSM Engineering Materials updated successfully its Management System from ISO/TS 16949towards the IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 (see annex for a copy of the certificates) and hascontinued the use of the powerful core-tools of AIAG, like APQP and PPAP, as described below.

Continual Improvement

DSM Engineering Materials has implemented a continual improvement methodology called DSMIntegrated Continual Improvement (DICI). All DSM Engineering Materials manufacturing plants andglobal Supply Chain teams have actively implemented DICI. The objectives and measurements aremonitored more than once per year on a plant site level. Evidence of DSM Engineering Materials’scontinual improvement journey can also be seen in several business processes, including customercomplaint handling, audits, CAPA, FMEA, control plans, preventive maintenance, contingencyplanning, and quality management reviews.

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

For the development of new products, DSM Engineering Materials uses the Product Quality Planningand Control Plan guidelines as described in the AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning andControl Plan Manual, adapted to the engineering materials (bulk materials) standards and workprocesses.

Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

As a producer of base polymers and generic and specialty compounds, DSM Engineering Materials isa bulk materials producer, as defined in the AIAG, PPAP Manual. This means that DSM EngineeringMaterials does not apply PPAP, unless requested by its Customers. In case PPAP is applied, the BulkMaterial Specific Requirements from the AIAG, PPAP Manual, Appendix F, are used.

Non-conforming products

Deviating materials, which are outside specification ranges, will be isolated and, depending on thenature of the deviation, either allocated to selected customers after agreement with thesecustomers, reworked, or designated as waste.

Audits

A system is in place for internal audits according to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Certification andsurveillance audits are carried out by Bureau Veritas (Europe, Asia Pacific), URS (Russia) and Intertek(America’s).

If the customer’s quality assurance system requires verification of compliancy of DSM EngineeringMaterials with the IATF 16949 standard, or requires verification of satisfactory complaint resolution,DSM Engineering Materials is willing to provide the results of the surveillance audits.

Customer audits are possible in collaboration with DSM Engineering Materials with the aim ofmutual benefit. Be aware that a Secrecy Agreement is required, and confidential information orpictures shall never be shared on hardcopy or electronically.

IV. Complaint Handling

Complaint Handling Policy

DSM Engineering Materials strives toward zero defects and zero complaints; however, if theCustomer believes they have received defective products or services, DSM Engineering Materialsplaces a high priority on handling the complaint with efficiency and quality to restore the strongbusiness relationship and company-supplier loyalty.

Organization

To ensure that customer complaints are handled expediently and with clear communication,Customers are asked to communicate all complaint-related information through the ComplaintCoordinator, who is the single point of contact for the customer throughout the complaint process.

In case of a complaint, the Customer may email their regional Complaint Coordinator (see listbelow) and carbon copy the DSM Engineering Materials Account Manager:

Procedure

Systems are in place to ensure customer complaints are being handled with high priority and tolimit the time between receipt of the complaint and the final answer to the customer as to thecause of the complaint and proposed corrective and preventive actions.

Within 24 hours after receipt of the complaint, DSM Engineering Materials’s Complaint Coordinatorwill confirm the Customer that a complaint has been issued and will agree about necessaryintermediate containment actions. DSM Engineering Materials will strive to inform the Customerabout the results of the investigation within 21 calendar days or discuss progress on a regular basis.

Method

DSM Engineering Materials’ complaint management system is based on Team Oriented ProblemSolving (TOPS-8D). In this system, after acknowledgement of a complaint, immediate containmentactions are followed by a root cause analysis. Based on this, corrective and preventive actions areproposed, implemented and verified. In case of a complaint about a product, a sample is necessaryfor investigation.

V. Safety, Health and Environmental

Royal DSM N.V. reports on Safety Health and Environment (SHE) programs and performance in itsannual “People, Planet and Profit” (Triple-P) report, which is available on www.dsm.com.

DSM SHE Requirements

DSM Safety, Health and Environment Requirements as set by Royal DSM N.V., are based oninternational standards like ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OSHAS 18001 (Health and Safety).Compliance is audited periodically by Royal DSM N.V.’s Corporate Operational Audit department andreported to the DSM Managing Board.

Safety, Health and Environmental Policy

It is the policy of DSM Engineering Materials to maintain business activities and products that donot adversely affect safety or health and that fit with the concept of sustainable development.

As a key supplier in our customers’ value chains, we are leading the way in implementing the moststringent environmental programs. DSM Engineering Materials has a sound environmental base withour proactive approach towards customers on issues related to sustainability. To meet demands forever-lower levels of hazardous substances we work with our raw material suppliers to come up withbetter solutions. We are committed to compliance with RoHS and WEEE directives and similarlegislation in development around the world. DSM Engineering Materials has a SHE Management System in place in all its sites worldwide which isbased on the DSM SHE Requirements and the international standard ISO 14001.

DSM Engineering Materials has incorporated these requirements and policies in its Annual SHE Planin which actions in the area of safety, health, environment have been included.

Responsible Care

The Responsible Care Program from the European Chemical Industry for continuous improvement inthe area of safety, health and environment. Royal DSM N.V. has been a participant in this programsince 1991.

A Product Stewardship Review for the products of DSM Engineering Materials is set up according tothe corporate guidelines of Royal DSM N.V., which in turn is based on the ‘Product StewardshipGuiding Principles: Responsible Care Applied to Products’ as initially published by the EuropeanChemical Industry Council (CEFIC) in May 1994.

In addition hereto, DSM has set up Product Stewardship in China in line with the China NationalRegistration Center for Chemicals.

REACH

REACH is one of the most important European Community Regulations on chemicals and their safeuse. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances.The aim of REACH is to enhance the protection of human health and the environment through thebetter and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances and by applyingappropriate safety assessment and risk management for the use of those substances.Manufacturers and importers are required to gather information on the properties of their chemicalsubstances, which will allow their safe handling, and to register the information via dossiersubmission to ECHA (European Chemical Agency) in Helsinki.

DSM supports the important objectives of REACH and considers it a mutual responsibility of thesupply chain to comply with it. All DSM REACH Phase II Registrations submitted successfully!

Food Contact Materials

For dedicated grades, DSM Engineering Materials complies with the European regulations for plasticmaterials in food contact applications, (EC) N°1935/2004 and (EC) N° 10/2011. Declarations ofCompliance for these specific grades could be requested from your DSM contact. DSM EngineeringMaterials considers the GMP guidelines as issued by Plastics Europe (April 2007) as sufficient tocope with the regulatory demands as formulated in the GMP regulations (EU N° 2023/2006 and FDA21CFR 174.5). Hygiene and pest control policies are available.

Conflict Minerals

On August 22, 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) issued its Final Ruleimplementing Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act,which aims to eliminate the use of conflict minerals originating in the Democratic Republic of theCongo. The SEC Final Rule requires U.S. listed companies to disclose the use and source of origin of

these conflict minerals that include tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold in the products theymanufactured.

In the manufacturing of almost all products of DSM Engineering Materials no raw materialscontaining Columbite-tantalite (Coltan and Tantalum), cassiterite (Tin), gold, wolframite (Tungsten),or their derivatives are intentionally added or used. Based on information from suppliers of the fewraw materials, containing Columbite-tantalite (Coltan and Tantalum), cassiterite (Tin), gold,wolframite (Tungsten), or their derivatives, these substances do not have its origin from DRC or anadjoining country.

DSM Engineering Materials adopted the EICC and GeSI-Reporting Template for providing relevantinformation to its customers. The completed template, based on relevant supplier information, isavailable on request and customers can use this information to take their responsibilities asdescribed in the above Act.

ISCC+ certification

Some DSM Engineering Materials plants are certified as producer of bio-feedstock based materialsvia the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC Pluss) scheme (based on massbalance). A copy of the certificates can be found in Annex 1.

Product Information and Specifications

Specifications

Our products are meeting the standard delivery specifications, which will be mentioned on theCertificate of Analysis. Typical values for product characteristics are mentioned on the Product DataSheet and could be downloaded via our website. If the customer’s application requires additionalspecifications on specific product characteristics, it should be explicitly agreed upon in writing.

Specifications are an integral part of the supply relationship between DSM Engineering Materialsand the customer. This supply relationship is further detailed in DSM Engineering Materials’sgeneral terms and conditions or any explicit other agreement between DSM Engineering Materialsand the customer.

Changes in specifications will be communicated in a timely manner by the Account Manager.

Management of Change

Changes in DSM Engineering Materials’s processes, materials, or equipment that are reasonablyforeseen by DSM Engineering Materials to lead to a different product specification range, differentpackaging, new production site (relocation), product elimination, and any change expected to havea negative impact on the normal properties and/or processability of the product will be notified inwriting to the Customer by the Account Manager in a timely manner to allow testing at theCustomer. If a specific contract, like a PPAP, is agreed upon between DSM Engineering Materials anda customer, the proposed change will follow this agreement.

Certificates of Analysis

With each delivery, DSM issues a Certificate of Analysis (CoA), which declares that the productssupplied comply with the requirements of the order. The CoA contains the order information, thetest characteristics, and the corresponding test method, test results, customer-agreedspecifications for the shipped batch of material. The CoA will be validated by an authorized DSM

inspection representative, independent of the production department. As such, the CoA complieswith these and all requirements of a “Type 3.1” inspection certificate under EN 10204:2004.

Material tests

The physical/chemical characteristics of the material are determined on a regular basis on the finalproduct before the packaging. A visual inspection of the packed goods takes place prior toshipment. Due to the production process and the destructive nature of testing, 100% inspection ofbulk materials is not possible. DSM Engineering Materials products are released via SAP whenmeeting the standard batch release delivery specifications and, if applicable, additional batchrelease delivery specifications which have been explicitly agreed upon between DSM EngineeringMaterials and the Customer.

Test methods

Our DSM standardized test methods used for material characterization are based on internationalaccepted standards like ISO and ASTM. These test methods are mentioned on our Product DataSheets.

Statistical data

Cp/Cpk values are calculated based on the moving ranges method as described in the AIAGReference Manual for Statistical Process Control. These Cpk values are evaluated regularly andcommunicated with the customer upon request.

Product safety

DSM Engineering Materials’s products are non-hazardous materials. Material Safety Data Sheetscompliant to the relevant national law are sent to the customer at first shipment, after a change oron request. In case any safety information about our products is required, that is not covered by ourSafety Material Data Sheets, questions can be forwarded to the Account Manager. Upon acustomer’s request, DSM will issue the relevant signed statement on the properties of the productas legally required, e.g. “absence declarations”. DSM Engineering Materials has identified DrewManica and Santosh Bhoj as appropriate qualified Product Safety & Conformity Representative(PSCR), formerly PSB Product Safety Representative ) related to IATF 16949, section 4.4.1.2.

International Material Data Sheet

Upon customer request, a MDS will be released in IMDS. The MDS is made up according to theappropriate IMDS recommendations (IMDS 001 & 010). DSM Engineering Materials’s identity numberis 16431.

General Product information

Up-to-date general product information can be found on www.dsm.com. Specific information onpackaging, specifications, and certificates will be communicated by the Account Manager.

Security of Supply

Supply of raw materials and servicesRaw Material suppliers are selected and qualified according to the guidelines of DSM EngineeringMaterials as written down in DSM Engineering Materials’s Global Management System. Frequency

and extent of the assessment depends on the importance of the materials and services supplied tothe business processes. In the assessment the following items are audited as a minimum: logisticperformance, financial performance, product quality, sustainability and continuous improvement.

DSM Engineering Materials shall only select suppliers for raw materials which are registered to atleast ISO 9001 by an accredited third-party certification body. If this is not the case and our securityof supply is at stake, DSM Engineering Materials may deviate from this requirement but will takeadequate additional measures. If the raw material manufacturer is third-party certified to ISO 9001,it is preferred (but not required) for any distributor of this raw material to be ISO 9001 certified.Unless specifically required by the customer, third-party providers of logistic services, includingtransporting and warehousing, are preferred to be ISO 9001 certified, but ISO 9001 certification isnot required if other industry-relevant quality certifications are in place.

DSM Engineering Materials shall only select suppliers for laboratory and calibrating services whichare registered to ISO/IEC 17025 by an accredited third-party certification body or have a planavailable to meet this requirement within acceptable timeframe. Calibration services may beprovided by the original equipment manufacturer, provided their laboratory also maintains therequirements of IATF 16949, section 7.1.5.3.1. If this is not the case and security of supply is at stakeDSM Engineering Materials could deviate from this requirement but will convince itself of thevalidity of the analyzes or calibrations by additional analyzes.

Planning

DSM Engineering Materials produces to stock, or to order. The production planning is based oncontracted volumes, updated forecasts of customers and inventory data. To ensure that product ofthe right type and quantity is available all of the time, DSM Engineering Materials relies on accurateforecasts from all its customers.

DSM Engineering Materials strives to supply product to customers as confirmed in the agreement.The specific terms of this agreement are defined in our General Conditions of Sale (GCOS), or asotherwise expressly stated in the Seller Confirmation.

Warehouse Management

The warehouse is managed by First in First out (FIFO) principles.

Contingency planning

DSM Engineering Materials has taken several measures to prepare for the continuity of supply in theevent of key equipment failures, interruption of external services, recurring natural disasters, fire,utility interruptions, cyber-attacks, labor shortages, or infrastructure disruptions. Contingency plansare in place for all DSM Engineering Materials plants and the necessary inputs that supportproduction (suppliers, utilities, parts/equipment, distribution, etc). A spare parts / maintenanceprogram has been determined for each part of equipment based on a risk analysis.

In addition, DSM Engineering Materials performs an annual risk assessment of all businessprocesses, and the concept of risk-based thinking is applied and documented throughout our QMS,including our turtle diagrams, SWOT analyses, contingency planning, and quality managementreviews.

TransportDSM Engineering Materials works with preferred transport companies selected after careful auditingto ensure service and above all DSM’s high standards on safety, quality and reliability. Alltransporters must meet the DSM Minimum Requirements for Transport, i.e.

a. Have a Safety, Health and Environmental management system (demonstrable).

b. Meet the requirements of the “Green Booklet”, Guidelines for Standardization of RoadTransport Equipment, issued by CEFIC/ECTA/EPCA working group.

The performance of the transport companies is evaluated on a regular basis.

Customs related security

DSM Engineering Materials in Europe has been certified in the European Union as AuthorizedEconomic Operator (AEO), Customs Simplifications, Security and Safety. This means DSM EngineeringMaterials in Europe is reliable throughout the European Community in the context of his customsrelated operations when trading with non-EU jurisdictions and fulfils the criteria of appropriaterecord-keeping standards, financial solvency and maintenance of appropriate security and safetystandards. The AEO code is also recognized by non-European Union countries like Norway,Switzerland, Japan and US (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, or C-TPAT).

DSM Engineering Materials (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. in Jiangyin, China has also been certified as AuthorizedEconomic Operator (AEO) by China Customs.

VI. Packaging

DSM Engineering Materials is able to deliver in bags on pallet, octapacks, boxes, big bags, and(restricted) in silo. DSM Engineering Materials uses one-way packaging and cannot retrieve orreclaim the packaging. Package types may differ between the product brands.

Labels

To ensure traceability the pallets are labeled on both sides with:

• the producer name and address

• product name

• batch number (or shipment/container number, where applicable)

• net weight

Material Storage and Shelf Life

DSM Engineering Materials’s products are dried in the factory to a specified maximum moisturespecification and delivered in packaging materials that minimize moisture absorption. Materialstored in a warehouse will neither show decrease of molecular weight nor undergo chemicalreactions with the environment, so there is no loss in original quality of the material. Therefore, theconcept of shelf life does not apply to DSM Engineering Materials’s polymers or compoundedproducts.

In case the material absorbs moisture prior to use, it is advised to dry the material according to theappropriate Injection Molding Recommendations (IMR), available for all products in multiplelanguages upon request.
