Prelude All Hail The Power Of Jesusʹ Name arr. by Jeff Bennett
Stephen Carey, piano
Call to Worship ₍Adapted from Psalm 16) I bless the Lord who gives me counsel.
I keep the Lord always before me.
Because the Lord is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Opening Prayer Lisa Patterson
*Hymn 624 I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art TOULON
Prayer of Confession Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient
church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not
loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful
obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (Time of silent confession).
Hymn 437 You Are the Lord, Giver of Mercy WAYFARING STRANGER
Declaration of Pardon Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
Reading of the Law Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your
mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

*Hymn 683 Lord of All Hopefulness COURTNEY
*Affirmation of Faith The Confession of 1967
Already God’s reign is present as a ferment in the world, stirring hope in people and preparing the world to
receive its ultimate judgment and redemption. With an urgency born of this hope, the church applies itself to
present tasks and strives for a better world. It does not identify limited progress with the kingdom of God on
earth, nor does it despair in the face of disappointment and defeat. In steadfast hope, the church looks beyond
all partial achievement to the final triumph of God. Amen.

Acts 26: 1‐8
26 Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his
hand and began to defend himself:
2 “I consider myself fortunate that it is before you, King Agrippa, I am to make my defense today
against all the accusations of the Jews, 3 because you are especially familiar with all the customs and
controversies of the Jews; therefore I beg of you to listen to me patiently.
4 “All the Jews know my way of life from my youth, a life spent from the beginning among my own
people and in Jerusalem. 5 They have known for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that I have
belonged to the strictest sect of our religion and lived as a Pharisee. 6 And now I stand here on trial on
account of my hope in the promise made by God to our ancestors, 7 a promise that our twelve tribes
hope to attain, as they earnestly worship day and night. It is for this hope, your Excellency, that I am
accused by Jews! 8 Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?
Romans 5: 1‐11
5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of
sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffer‐
ing produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope
does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit
that has been given to us.
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Indeed, rarely will any‐
one die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. 8 But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. 9 Much more
surely then, now that we have been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the
wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his
Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life. 11 But more than that, we
even boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

stress and anxiety, and assist in achieving physical and emo‐
tional goals. Therapy Pals of Golden Triangle was founded in
2006 and was the first therapy dog organization in North Tex‐
as to be recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The
organization proudly provides animal‐assisted therapy in
many locations in and around Denton County. Therapy Pals
teams visit the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center,
nursing homes, assisted living centers, behavioral health hos‐
pitals, local libraries, schools, and universities. Learn more

azine‐style publication. If your group or class uses curriculum,
please include the curriculum in the announcement. Please
submit your announcement via email to Lou Korom,
[email protected], by midnight on Sunday, December

Treehouse Thanksgiving Donations
The Treehouse After School program is a mission of St. An‐
drew to provide affordable, quality after school care for chil‐
dren who are on free or reduced lunch at certain campuses in
the Denton school district. These children spend their after‐
noons in the St. Andrew rec center where they receive snack,
homework help, time for free play, arts and crafts, and read‐
ing, and experience the love and support of the St. Andrew
congregation. For more than 20 years, the congregation of St.
Andrew has supported the families of The Treehouse by help‐
ing to provide their Thanksgiving dinners. The Treehouse Ad‐
visory Committee is again asking for your donations to help
provide grocery store gift cards to our families so they can
purchase the food they need for Thanksgiving. We currently
have 9 families attending The Treehouse and we hope to pro‐
vide each family with a $100 gift card. Donations can be made
through the church office or on St. Andrew Connect. Thank
you for continuing to support this valuable mission.
Goodland Academy Angel Tree
Believe it or not, the holiday season is fast approaching, and
that means it is time to start thinking about our annual mission

Hugo, OK. The students and staff at Goodland will be asked to
join us virtually for the Christmas pageant and dinner again
this year. However, gifts will be delivered to Goodland per‐
sonally by Linda Fite and Stephanie Raesz prior to that date.
Please visit the SignUp Genius link below to select your gift.
After purchasing, bring your wrapped and tagged gift to the
church office no later than Sunday, November 28. (When pur‐
chasing, we ask that you please be mindful of anticipated ship‐
ping delays during this holiday season.)
Thank you for continuing to support this important and ongo‐
ing mission.
