Denmark is a small country in the centre of Europe.

PHYSICAL FEATURES Denmark is a small country in the

centre of Europe. Denmark is situated 55º north and 12º east. Most of Denmark is bordered by sea as it is in the Jutland peninsula. It borders the North Sea on the north and west, the Baltic sea in the east and in the south Germany. A part of Denmark is land (Jutland Peninsula) the rest of it are islands (Seelandia, Fiona, Lolland) and other islands like: Green-land, and Faroe islands. It is very flat, without mountains and short rivers. It has 43.100 km2. The largest river in Denmark is Gauden, and it is only 172 km long. The highest mountain in Den-mark, is situated in Greenland, Gunnbjörn is its name and it is 3693 m high. The highest place in the Jutland Peninsula is Yding which is only 172 m high.

CLIMATE

Denmark has a cool oceanic cli-mate. The temperatures in winter can drop to 0ºC. Summers are the hottest season of the year, sunny days normally. Spring and Autumn are cool but it is a bit of cold. The seasons when it rains the most are Summer and Autumn. Winter is

Copenhagen is the capital city of Denmark. It has a population of 1,230 milions. A number of bridges and tun-nels connect the parts of the city together

The Nyhavn port in Copen-hagen is a beautiful port where you can walk through the seafront. The Amalienborg palace in Copenhagen is an enor-mous palace. It’s famous because is the winter home of the Danish Royal family.

Victor Borge (3 January 1909 – 23 De-cember 2000) was born in Borge Ros-enbaum, was a Danish and American comedian, Borge did not speak a word of English so he moved to Amer-ica to adapt his jokes.He died peace-fully in his sleep a day after returning from a concert in Denmark.

Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (2 January 1783 – 22 July 1853) was a Danish painter.He was born in the Duchy of Schleswig Denmark. He died in rare reasons.

FAMOUS PERSONS

Erik Balling (29 November 1924 – 19 November 2005) was a Danish TV and film director.Balling started working for the largest and oldest Danish film production company, Nordisk Films Kompagni, in 1946.

FAMOUS PERSONS

Hans Christian Andersen ( 1805-1875) he was a famous writer. Hans Christian Andersen was born in the town of Odense, Denmark, on April 2, 1805.

Andersen's father, who had re-ceived an elementary education, introduced Andersen to literature school. In the spring of 1872, An-dersen fell out of his bed and he died.
