Welcome Back
I trust everyone had a relaxing break over the
Easter Holidays and is ready for a productive
term at DNPS. I am sure the students will contin-
ue to amaze us with their learning.
Staff Development Day
Yesterday staff review reports to parents, our
programming policy and the Second Step pro-
gram that we will be beginning this year.
Breakfast Bar Returns
Thank you to Bakers Delight and IGA Deniliquin
for their continued support of our school break-
fast program that runs all Term 2 and 3. Students
are able to have toast and Milo between 8.30
and 8.50am.
ANZAC DAY
Thank you to the students who participated in local
ANZAC Day services and the Deniliquin March.
Thank you to Miss Brooksby for attended to repre-
sent the staff.
It was a pleasure to
have Don Ward present
at our school service
and speak to students
about the tradition of
wearing a poppy as re-
membrance.
I know that the partici-
pation of students in
the local March is very
much appreciated by
our current and past
Service men and women.
P&C Movie Night
Thank you to the P&C for the movie, BBQ
and popcorn. Families enjoyed the oppor-
tunity to get together and enjoy a evening
of family fun at school.

P&C Mother’s Day Stall
The annual Mother’s Day Stall will be held on Fri-
day 10th May. Children love picking out that spe-
cial gift to give to their Mum, Grandma, Aunty or
Carer and we are asking for donations that can be
sold at this year’s stall. Past ideas include: Hand
creams, soaps, mugs, body wash, chocolates etc. It
would be appreciated if you could kindly wrap do-
nations in clear cellophane.
Easter Hat Parade
Thank You.
Many thanks to all who helped so much with the
Easter Hat Parade.
Thanks to the Kinder to Year 2 teachers, for the fab-
ulous songs at the start. That really set the tone for
the afternoon. Thanks to all who helped set up and
clean up at the end– your help was much appreciat-
ed. It was great to see the Year 6 children taking on
leadership roles in running the afternoon– leading
children around, handing out prizes, judging, and
helping with announcing. The certificates looked
great– many thanks to Stacey Clancy for these.
Many thanks to Christie for the terrific photos– a
wonderful record of a fun time. Thanks must go to
staff for the various jobs they did– helping to set
up, giving fresh ideas, judging, crowd control, and
generally working to make the day a success. It was
great to see so many parents on the day– sup-
porting their children at school, and working to-
gether with their children to create a fun memory.
Well done to those who bought or sold raffle tickets
– the school raised over $500 in the raffle. This is a
superb effort. Many thanks to Miss Fisher for do-
nating the basket of eggs, Mrs Paton for knitting the
knitted bunnies, and Cheryl for donating the other
bunnies.
All in all, a wonderful day. Many thanks to everyone
who made this such a happy way to end the term.

menu coming out next
week. Please let Maureen
know if you are able to assist
in the canteen this term.
State Swimming Super Fish
Congratulations to Megan Lawson who swam in
two events at the NSW PSSA State Swimming in the
last week of term. With the amazing technology
available to us, students in her class and her sister
were able to watch her in both of her events. Me-
gan was pleased with her effort swimming a per-
sonal best in the backstroke.
Boys have volunteered to take part in some re-
storative projects around the school. With some
of our playground furniture having seen better
days the boys have brought some new life into
one of the picnic tables for use at lunch time.
