Demonstrative Adjectives indicate where SOMETHING is. They show how close or far an item is from the SPEAKER (YOU). These demonstrative adjectives appear BEFORE the noun. They agree in gender and number with the noun that they describe. In respect to YOU and your location, you will indicate “this item”, “that item”, or “that far away item”:
CLOSE FAR VERY FAR

Este Ese Aquel
Feminine Singular
Esta Esa aquella

Demonstrative PRONOUNS take the place of nouns. They agree in gender and number with the noun that they REPLACE. ***Note the accent mark. When using the pronoun, the name of the noun is no longer used:
