MESSAGE AND MISSION
The Senior Site was founded on the belief that people and
business flourish when engaged in a relationship. When a
nurturing relationship exists between two people,
whether they are in a community or a business, providing
service or housing, deeper commitments are developed
along with a greater sense of fulfillment.
After 25 years in senior management positions in academic
medical centers, my path changed 10 years ago into the
senior living industry when I was confronted with the issue
of senior care/housing on a very personal level, my mother!
That experience ignited a passion to work with older
adults and their adult children. Since then, I have helped
many families through this journey.
We provide solutions in senior living which include, but
are not by any means limited to: senior referrals; assisted
tours of communities; veterans aid and attendance re-
sources; elder law recommendations; estate and funeral
trust planning; validation work for those with dementia;
and, counseling within that realm.
Our commitment to our clients: provide the best service
possible in terms of both success and fulfillment.

THE NAOMI FEIL VALIDATION
METHOD
Naomi Feil, MSW, ACSW credentials
To validate a disoriented older person is to em-power them through a specialized method using empathy, employing specific learned principles and techniques, assisting that person to relieve pent up emotions, express inner needs, and re-solve unfinished life tasks.
It is a method for categorizing behavior to help maloriented and disoriented very old people to regain dignity through individual Validation and Validation Groups.
It is a philosophy of care. This method has been researched and developed over the past 40 years and it blends philosophies of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Erik Erikson’s Life Tasks Theory as well as S. Freud, C. Rogers, J. Piguet, and C. Jung.
GOALS AND OUTCOMES OF VALIDATION
1. Increase verbal and non-verbal communication
2. Increase expression of emotions and needs
3. Increase movement and ambulation
4. Increase social controls
5. Interact and socialize more: withdraw less
6. Lessen anxiety, frustration, aggression
7. Lesson need for chemical and physical restraints
8. Express their unique wisdom gained from life
