the ct model FCA taintor valve is a radial type penstock. there are two construction types available. the first type or model is meant to be installed on channels and dams, on the surface. this model is provided with a 3-side sealing. the second model is installed at the bottom of dams and is used for control and discharge applications. it is provided with a 4-side sealing.

the frame has a sector shape. the sealing area is embedded within the concrete and the gate with its sealing joints slides towards the frame sealing it tight. they are fabricated according to customers’ specifications.

las compuertas tipo taintor FCA modelo ct, son del tipo radial con dos versiones de fabricación. una para instalar en canales y presas, en superficie: este modelo es con estanqueidad a 3 lados. la otra versión es para fondo de presas en servicio de regulación y descarga. para este caso la estanqueidad es a 4 lados.

el marco tiene forma de sector. la zona de cierre está embebida en hormigón y sobre ella cierra la compuer-ta, que lleva incorporada la junta de estanqueidad. Se construyen según las especificaciones requeridas por el cliente.

They offer an effective solution for flow control and energy dispersion. FCA design concept guarantees an optimal hydraulic behaviour providing stability and lack of vibrations and cavitation without interfering with the opening level. This design makes that the conditions for energy dispersion are most appropriate providing a symmetric flow. The valve expels a high speed water jet in the shape of a hollow cone. When the water comes in contact with the air, it is pulverized and an intense dispersion of the kinetic energy takes place. Endesa, Iberdrola and similar End users have trusted FCA robust solutions for this kind of hydro Electrical power stations.
