    1 Kempty Falls

    Welcome to Kempty Falls, a place that

    promises wonderful memories for you. It will be hard to get your eyes off the mesmerizing Kempty falls. You can step into the pool formed by the falls and join its game. Take a dip or splash the cold water on your friends or family, enjoy the way you want. The place will fill you with extra energy, soaking you in fun and frolic.

    Kempty Falls, at 15 km from Mussoorie, can be reached by bus or taxi which are easily available at Mussoorie bus stand. Accommodation arrangements are made in the huts around Kempty if you plan to spend the day in exploring the beautiful falls. It is adviced that you avoid going here during the Monsoon due to the heavy flow of water.

    2 Asan Barrage

    Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248001, India

    The beautiful Asan Barrage is a great picnic spot in Dehradun and a perfect place if you are into bird watching. You can spend hours

    watching the rarest species of migratory birds at the barrage including Adwall, Wigeon, RC pochard, Tufted, Pintail and Shoveller to name a few. Various adventure activities are also organised here and you can see experts skiing across the smooth waters of the barrage. The place also calls for some moments of relaxation when you have to do nothing, just sitting idle and contemplating the natural beauty that is widely spread across you. For the hungry stomachs, there is a small outlet which serves excellent Maggi at INR 25. The best months to visit the barrage are from October to March.

    3 Laxman Siddh

    Laxman Siddh has got a charm and solitude that can take you away from all the worries of an everyday life. It's built in a way that it's hidden from the probing eyes of wanderers and myths have it that centuries ago, Laxmana underwent penance for killing Ravana and meditated here for years. The solitude of the place certainly makes for the perfect ambiance to lose oneself in meditation.  Every Sunday a fair is held where thousands of disciples gather to pay their respects at the shrine in the temple. Devotees from far and wide visit the fair, though the crowd usually remains low during weekdays. Wild cries of animals and birds can often be heard at the temple.

    A visit to Jharia Pani Falls is recommended to all the nature lovers. Situated at a distance of about 8 km from the hill station, the waterfall is an ideal spot to plan a day's picnic with your loved ones. It is also a trekker's paradise as you have to walk through a 1 km stretch to reach here. The walk is an experience in itself as you would be accompanied by lush greenery and serenity on your way to the spot. It’s quite a sight to see the waterfall amidst the gorgeous natural milieu. Don't forget to bring your cameras or else you won't able to capture these beautiful sights.You can opt for either a car or local bus to reach Jhariapani and from there you can take a walk to reach the fall.

    5 Tapkeshwar Temple

    Tapkeshwar Temple, also known as Tapekshwar Mahadev Temple, is one of the

    most famous temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated by the forest side, the main shivalinga at the temple is inside a natural cave. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the shivalinga in a continuous downpour, making for an interesting spectacle.
