Our Vacation Bible School starts TOMORROW, June 19th! Your children will love getting to

know some of the Bible’s adventurous pioneers who blazed the trail for Jesus, & we’ll learn

how to blaze the trail to lead others to Jesus, too!

All members of DeGaulle Drive Church of Christ are asked to attend a special meeting in the auditorium on June 18, 2017, at 6:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to worship God through the preaching of His Word, giving those who were unable to attend this morning an opportunity to contribute to the church’s work & observe the Lord’s Supper, offering prayers unto the

throne of grace, & joining our voices in singing praises unto His glorious name.

You may ask, “But isn’t this what happens every Sunday evening?” Yes, it is, but does that make it less important or less special to God? Is it special to me?

We are immeasurably grateful for the presence of all who made it a point to attend the special meeting last Sunday pertaining to physical needs of the church. This week, next week, & every week that follows, let’s all give the same earnest heed to the spiritual needs of the church by being present to exhort one another & to provoke one another to love & good works (Hebrews 10:24-25).

The wise man Solomon had much to say about how parents & children are to treat each other. His inspired words specifically mentioning fathers are given here without comment, but with two questions: 1) Fathers, how are we

treating our children? 2) Children, how are we treating our fathers? Proverbs 1:8 – My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy

mother: Proverbs 3:12 – For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in

whom he delighteth. Proverbs 4:1-4 – Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know

understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Proverbs 6:20 – My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 10:1 – The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Proverbs 13:1 – A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Proverbs 15:5 – A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Proverbs 15:20 – A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 17:6 – Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

Proverbs 17:21 – He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.

Proverbs 17:25 – A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

Proverbs 19:13-14 – A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Proverbs 19:26 – He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Proverbs 20:20 – Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

Proverbs 22:28 – Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Proverbs 23:22 – Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother

when she is old. Proverbs 23:24-25 – The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that

begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

Proverbs 27:10 – Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

Proverbs 28:7 – Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

Proverbs 28:24 – Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

Proverbs 29:3 – Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

Proverbs 30:11 – There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Proverbs 30:17 – The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

be June 19-23 from 9AM to 11AM for ages 2-6th grade. 3. FELLOWSHIP MEAL: Will be June 25th after AM worship. This will be an especially special

fellowship meal in honor of a special baby girl to be named Zoe Olivia Carter, being born to very special parents, Eugene & Kindy Carter. Please join us to celebrate Zoe’s upcoming arrival.

WORK NIGHT FOR THE MASTER: Last month’s work night produced 300 local mailings, 17

cards of encouragement, & 49 World Bible School correspondence courses. Please be sure to join us for work night this month on June 28th!!
