AHRN was founded on 10th March 2016 on the initiative of local Human Rights De- fenders Operating on the Great lakes Region and members of African Diaspo- ra living in the Netherlands. AHRN provide platform to more than 75 civil society NGOs operating in the great Lake Regions include Rwan- da, Burundi, Congo DRC, Uganda, and Tanzania. Netherland in Tanzania and repre-

sentatives from Norway Embassy,

Internal and Local NGOs and artists-

Human Right Defenders from Tan-

zania.

The two speaker’s One from

SISEMA and WILDAF shared

the knowledge and experience on

issues related to children and wom-

en’s rights in Tanzania context. This

was useful as many actors are not

really aware of the situation as many

actors base only on what they are

working on, hence lacking knowledge

on other sectors/ groups.

EN’S DAY

AHRN also participate the In-

ternational Women’s day (08

March 2019) that was held at

Mlimani city Conference Cen-

tre in Dar es Salaam Tanzania.

The honourable guest of hon-

our was the The Regional

Commissioner of Dar es sa-

laam City known as Paul Ma-

konda.

International Women’s Day

(March 8) is a global day cele-

brating the historical, cultural,

and political achievements of

women. The day also is a day

of action in support of taking

action against gender inequality

around the world. We all know

the world couldn’t run without

women. This is the day to ap-

preciate their efforts! Organi-

zations large and small come

together to show women just

how valuable they are to to-

day’s society.

International Women's Day

(IWD) is celebrated on

March 8 every year. It is a

focal point in the movement

for women's rights. The day

originated after the Socialist

Party of America organized a
