Concept

Documenting WW2 war landscapes relating to defence mechanisms which are usually hidden

or not noted by the general public and educating the viewer about defence

mechanisms used today that they may not be aware about.

Anti terrorism defences that exist today that we may not be aware about include:

- Man portable air defence systems,These are shoulder launched air missiles which are infra-red and are mainly guided weapons which are much of a threat to aircraft that are low flying, such as helicopters. These were displayed on towers near the stadium during the 2012 Olympics. There are also other types of air defence systems such as command line of sight and laser guided.

During the Olympics other mechanisms were used to prevent anti terrorist attacks, these being - chemical agent detection devices used to prevent any lethal chemical devices(ICDs) which diffused chemical or biological agents. e.g LCD-Nexus, Sabre 5000, MMTD, LCD 3.3

Other mechanisms that were present during the London Olympics 2012

Anti aircraft guns which are high velocity, rapier missile systems that were installed in Leytonstone, Bow, Blackheath Common and Oxleas wood, Enfield and Epping Forest.

Radiation detection devices such as ( RadSeeker, DMC 3000, pds-100GN/ID and RDS-31 S/R) used to detect radiology dispersal devices (RDDs).

CBRN (Chemical biological, radio logical and nuclear)security plan. This set of guidelines has an all hazard approach pin pointing the prevention and detection of, response and preparedness response to any CBRN threats.

Other defences Chemical-surveillance plan. Plan includes, infra-red stand off detectors clouds of gas

which contain toxic particles, portable hand held ion spectrometer and portable gas chronograph/mass spectrometers.

Cargo and vehicle inspection mechanisms such as the HCVM e35 series, HCVM L, HCVP

Explosive detection used for liquid. Portable ones include the ACE-ID, larger ones

such as the TIM and HI-SCAN 6040-2is, these are commonly seen in airports.
