DEFEATING THE STRONGMAN AND RELEASING GOD’S PEOPLE FOR SUCCESS LK 11: 21-22, Mt 12: 29 Jesus in the parable described Satan as the strongman who must be conquered to release his captives and divide his spoils. Satan has been troubling the world since Adamic era. Up till today he remains the unseen personality behind human temptations, troubles and problems. Some of his numerous names in the bible portray his diabolical activities: 1. The ruler of this world John 12:31, John 14: 30 2. The god of this world 2Cor 4:1 3. The prince of the power of the air Eph 2: 2 4. The ruler of darkness Eph 6:12 5. The wicked one Mt 13: 19 6. The adversary 1Pet 5:8 7. The murderer John 8: 44 However during His earthly ministry, Jesus exercised authority over Satan and demons for he was manifested to destroy his works. On the cross, Jesus fulfilled the scriptures by overcoming the devil and completed the works of redemption. Therefore the New Testament believers can enjoy jubilee because the strongman has been defeated and conquered. 1. Devices and conduct of the strongman 2. Defeat and conquest of the strongman 3. Jesus is the stronger man that came upon Satan defeating him and divided his spoils. His defeat and conquest littered the pages of scriptures. Inspiring examples of the people of God who triumphed have been preserved for our learning. Jesus concluded Satans defeat by His works of redemption.

Everyone who meets the scripturally set condition can benefit from the defeat of satan;1. Be genuinely converted and live a holy life2. Recognise your position3. Resist the devil4. Stand on Gods promises5. Put on the whole armour of God6. Praying always and waiting upon God7. Overcome him and his cohorts by the name and the blood of Jesus
