James McCormick, PGAGeneral Manager and Head Golf Professional

A PGA of America Class A member came to Deerfield Golf Club in 2006andmanages all golf, food, beverage, range, lesson and maintenanceoperations at our golf club. Mike Bavier, Jr. GCSAA – Golf Course Superintendent

A North Carolina State Graduate and the son of Mike Bavier, Sr., long time North Shoreprivate Golf Course Superintendent legend.Mike Bavier, Jr. got his start on the privateclub side of the business working at several of Chicago’s best private clubs. He broughthis talents to Deerfield in 2001 and has made improvements to our course year after year.Mike is the reason we have the Best Greens on the North Shore – Public. Jim Hermsen – Assistant General Manager

“Jimmy”has been a member of the Deerfield Golf Club team since 1998. Jimmy is visiblein every way and every day of our club operations. John Treichler – Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

“BIG John”has been haunting (just kidding) the golf club since 1982. John has seen andbeen part of every change and improvement at Deerfield for nearly 30 years. Even though hisposition is primarily taking care of our golf course, John knows most if not all our members byname. He often greets customers at the first green many weekends. John prides himself onthe quality of our course and has a huge part to play in the great daily golf course conditionsour customers have come to expect. He is a big part of why Deerfield Golf Club’s greens arethe Best on the North Shore – Public. Contact John at 847-812-7732.

Fructoso Sandoval – Executive Chef

“Chef Sandy” joined our team in 2011 and brought with himmore than 18 years of culinaryexperience. Sandy started his career with the famous Chicago eatery Gino’s East then asan Executive Chef for the nationally known and highly successful Lettuce Entertain YouRestaurant group. Chef Sandoval’s Las Casa del Gordo restaurant in Highland Park wona four star rating in 2001. Former Executive Chef to theWaukegan Yacht Club in 2003and was a Chicago Sun Times award winner in 2007.

Our Permanent Tee Times Play in 4 hours or Less…or Else!

During the regular golf season, there are times available each Saturday and Sunday for permanent teetime groups starting at 5:30 a.m.

Permanent Pace of Play:One of the most important services Deerfield Golf Club provides its patron is theability to play a round of golf in a reasonable time period.

Our weekend Permanent Pace of Play program is rigidly enforced for everyone’s benefit and enjoyment.Players teeing off prior to 7 a.m.must complete their rounds in 3 hours, 50 minutes or less, tee off before9 a.m. and have 4 hours to finish. Those with late tee times prior to 11 a.m.will finish in no longerthan 4 hours, 10 minutes or less.Visit our web site for more information.

Permanent tee time applications and a fee of $260 ($65 per person) startingtime application fee must be submitted to the golf course or to the JewettPark Community Center, no later than March 5. Applications are beingaccepted during regular business hours at both the golf course and at theJewett Park Community Center. Representatives from the course will also beon hand Saturdays February 25 and March 3 from 9 a.m. to Noon at the golfcourse to accept passes and applications. Golf Passes and Pre-paid tickets forthe 2012 season can be purchased at both the golf course and the Jewett ParkCommunity Center at any time.

Our Permanent Tee Time drawing will be held at the Deerfield Golf Club, 1201Saunders Rd, onWednesday,March 7 at 7 p.m. Only one application may be submitted for eachfoursome, and no one namemay be submitted on more than one application. The $260 starting timeapplication fee must be paid in full and will be refunded if a starting time is not received. Regularlyscheduled Permanent Starting Times begin on April 14 and end September 9.

Tee Time Cancellation Policy: Please keep in mind that the use of substitute players is encouraged.

If unable to play, individuals and / or groups should cancel their tee time at least 24 hours in advance.There is no penalty for cancellations. If a player fails to cancel their individual tee time within 24 hours priorto schedule play and does not play, they will be considered a “No Show”and the individual will incur acharge for a “No Show Fee” equal to the current Resident 18 Hole Greens Fee. A valid credit card numbermust be submitted for each member of a starting time group. Any “No Show Fees”will be automaticallycharged to the individual’s credit card on file. All “No Show Fees” are considered a cash sale.

Exceptions to the “No Show Fee” are as follows:

• When weather conditions warrant “Cart Paths Only.”

• When there has been a frost or lightning delay in the morning.

• When there has been 3/10 of an inch of precipitation overnightmeasured at the club in the morning.

• Special circumstances (medical emergencies, auto accidents, etc.)will be at the discretion of the club manager.

All season passesexcept for corporate pass types are non-transferable and subject to regulations of the Deerfield ParkDistrict. This privilege may be revoked without refund for violation of rules & regulations. Applicationswith false information will be cause for revocation of privilege without any refund. Limited tickets aresold to players under the agreement that they are good only during the golf season for which they werepurchased. Swing In Spring - #385001Our Spring competitive junior golf program . The goalis to provide Junior golfers from our area an opportu-nity to prepare for the upcoming competitive golfseason. This program will run from April 10 – June 5,2012 and will consist of three different competitiveevents to adequately prepare you playing in the IJGA,MAJGT, and High School level.

Our 2012 Swing Into Spring program meets twice aweek on Tuesday and Thursdays. Junior golfers willplay competitive events on Tuesdays and participatein organized supervised practice on Thursdays. Teetimes and practices start at 3:30 both days and last 1.5 to 2 hours.

Events:• The Junior Match Play Championship: This doubleelimination event consist of 9 hole matches to be played starting April 10. Tee times will start at 3:30 pm.

• The Red / White Team Championship: Starting May1, this exciting and unique format will feature a RedDivision (age 14 to 18) paired with a White Division(age 9 to 13) for a 27 hole tournament. In this formatnine holes will be a better ball of partners, nineholes will be a scramble and nine holes will be a select drive alternate shot.

• The Deerfield Junior Championship: Starting on May 22, this 27 hole stroke play championship.

Deerfield Jr. Travel Golf TeamThe Junior Golf Travel Team is open to any interestedjunior golfers. Junior golfers are broken into twoteams. Our Development Team ages 9 to 13 and OurPremier Team ages 14 to 18. This is a great way for Junior Golfers to prepare for competition at the Junior,High School and even College levels.Teams meet twice a week for practice and play a Monday tournament round each week.Players on the Junior Teams are encouraged to practice and play as often as time allows, for that tohappen a yearly golf pass is essential and should bepurchased and is available at a discounted rate.Our travel team Juniors play competitive events atDeerfield Golf Club and other Northshore golf coursesas part of the North Shore Junior Golf Tour.

IJGA PartnershipAll team members will receive IJGA membership. The IJGA is designed to meet the challenges of juniorslooking to gain an education in tournament golf. OurNew Junior Challenge Golf League will prepare youryoung golfer for competitive golf at the local, HighSchool and beyond levels. 1/2 Day Red ZoneScoring Golf SchoolsNearly 70% of the game ofgolf is played from within 50 yards of the hole! This area isthe “Scoring Zone” or “Red Zone.” The quickest and most effective way to consistently lower your score is by improving your game in the “Red Zone.” Your short game includes putting, chipping, finessewedge and bunker play. In this program you will not only learn the proper fundamentals to perform the shots, but also effective practice techniques anddrills to reinforce those fundamentals.Following instruction, students take their newly acquired skills directly to the golf course for 9 holes of golf.
