• Secretary Kwanesia “Nikki” Solomon Ellis, 22, hosted and read at the event while also encouraging many first time poets to express themselves all.
• Vice President Tyra Mills, 18, volunteered two poems from her personal collection to the crowd. The most intriguing was one about nature and how if you do not honor it’s glory, it will pass you by in the end.
• Brent Munnings, 21, junior, Psychology major read an original work for the first time at the event.
• Nervously, Brent sat down after his first attempt, but soon gained confidence and delivered a crowd favorite.
• Jesse Usry, 20, sophomore, Biology major also read one of his original poems for the first time.
• Paul Guzman, 22, a senior Psychology major and avid participant, read a free verse poem.
• Inspired by Paul, freshman Elaine Kriksky, 18 also did a free verse poem.
• The final meeting for the Deep Release Poetry Society will be April 23, 2013 in Meeting Room 2 of the Student Union.
