Dedication of Children and Infants Dearly beloved, forasmuch as all men, though fallen in Adam, are born into this world in Christ the Redeemer, heirs of life eternal and subjects of the saving grace of the Holy Spirit; and that all children, not having attained the age of accountability, by virtue of the unconditional benefits of the atonement, are members of the kingdom of God, and therefore graciously entitled to dedication; and that our Saviour Christ said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God (Luke 18:16); I beseech you to call upon God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, that of His bounteous goodness He will so grant unto these children, now to be dedicated, the continual replenishing of His grace, that They may become a faithful members of God’s holy church by faith that is in Jesus Christ. (Oremos): Almighty and everlasting God, we beseech You that of Your infinite mercies You will look upon these children, and grant that by the aid of the Holy Spirit They may  be steadfast in faith, joyful through hope, and rooted in the love of the Word, and that They may so live a godly life now, that They will enter triumphantly the life which is to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Almighty and everlasting God, we beseech You that of Your infinite mercies You

will look upon these children, and grant that by the aid of the Holy Spirit They may

which is to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Paul and Noemi, forasmuch as these children are now presented by you fordedication to God, and are in this way consecrated to God and His church, it is

your responsibility to live before them the life that becomes the Gospel, and seethat They are taught the meaning of this holy Sacrament; to renounce the devil and

all his works, the vain pomp and glory of the world, with all carnal desires of the

flesh, so that They may not follow or be led by them; to know the Holy Scripture

that is able to make them wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus; toinstruct them in its doctrines; to help them obediently keep God’s holy will and

commandments all the days of their lives; and that in every way, by precept and

example, you shall seek to lead them into the love of God and the service of ourLord Jesus Christ.

Will you train them to regularly worship God both publicly and privately so thatwhen They have reached the age of discretion, They being willing, and showing

evidence of living faith in Christ, will ratify and make their own the act of

dedication which you this day have undertaken? Do you solemnly assume these

obligations? Answer: We do, God being our helper.

(Then shall the minister say):

Hear the words of the Gospel as recorded in Mark 10:13-16, “And they broughtyoung children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked thosethat brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto

them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of suchis the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the

kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in

his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”

(Imponer las manos sobre los niños y decirle a los padres):

“Will you dedicate these children?

(Los Padres diran la bendicion)

What name shall be given them?”

Angelo Elohim and Sheila, I dedicate you in the name of the Father, and of theSon, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

(Oremos):

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, grant that these children, asThey grow in years, may also grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord

Jesus Christ through His holy Word. Grant that the restraining and renewing

influence of God may so guide them that They may ever be true children of God,

serving thee faithfully all their days, to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
