Centres de Recerca de Catalunya Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn European Commission Berlaymont Building 200 Rue de la Loi 1049 Brussels Belgium Declaration of Commitment to "The European Charter for Researchers" and "The Code of Conduct for the Récruitment of Researchers" Oear Madam, The CERCA Institution, promoted by the Government of Catalonia, has debated with the Oirectors and representatives of all CERCA R&O Centres "The European Charter for Researchers" and "The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers". In general the CERCA Centres comply with the recommendations and would therefore like to declare its commitment to both Charter and Code of Conduct. We highly value the work of the European Commission on this very important subject and consider it a step towards improved conditions for European researchers, as well as the new initiative of the HR Excellence in Research Award. By committing to this recommendation the CERCA institution and all CERCA Centres contribute to the building of the European Research Area and actively support the European Commission in promoting attractiveness of research careers and talented scientists.
