Decepcionados en el Día de Juicio Disappointed on the Judgment Day

• Introducción. A. Decepción. Pesar causado por un desengaño - conocimiento de la verdad, con que se sale del engaño o error.

• Introduction. A. Disappointment. Sorrow caused by the realization of the truth, having been mistaken about someone or something; failure to satisfy expectations.


• B. Ser decepcionado es una experiencia triste y frustrante. No nos gusta ser decepcionados.

• B. To be disappointed is a sad and frustrating experience. We do not like to be disappointed.


• C. Pero hay mucha decepción en esta vida. Es algo muy común. Nos toca a todos de vez en cuando.

• C. But there is much disappointment in this life. It is very common. It affects all of us once in awhile.


• I. Algunas decepciones tienen remedio. A. Quedamos decepcionados con “cosas”: compras de toda clase, vehículos, casas.

• I. Some disappointments have a remedy. A. We are disappointed with “things”: purchases of all kind, vehicles, houses.


• Algo se puede hacer. Hay garantías. Se puede devolver o cambiar por otra mercancía. Aun cambiar de casa.

• Something can be done. There are guarantees (warranties). It can be returned or exchanged. Even move to another house.


• B. Muchos quedan decepcionados con la educación, el negocio, el empleo, la profesión.

• B. Many are disappointed with their education, business, employment, profession.


• Aunque esto es más complicado que la decepción sobre “cosas”, aun así, se puede remediar la situación.

• Although this is more complicated than disappointment over “things,” even so the situation can be remedied.


• II. Decepción en el matrimonio es mucho más seria. A. Muchos simplemente no se conocían bien antes de casarse.

• II. Disappointment in marriage is much more serious. A. Many simply did not know each other well before marrying.


• La motivación era atracción física, ventaja financiera, u otra cosa material y secundaria.

• The motivation was physical attraction, financial advantage, or some other material and secondary reason.


• Sea lo que sea el problema, quedan desanimados, decepcionados y frustrados en su matrimonio.

• Whatever the problem might be, they are discouraged, disappointed and frustrated in their marriage.


• B. Pero el matrimonio no es como una compra, ni siquiera de algo costoso como vehículo o casa.

• B. But marriage is not like a purchase, not even of something costly like a vehicle or house.


• Muchos hacen cambios drásticos, abandonando su empleo o profesión, pero esto no es opción con respecto al matrimonio. 1 Cor. 7:10, 11; Mat. 19:9.

• Many make drastic changes, abandoning their job or profession, but this is not an option in marriage. 1 Cor. 7:10, 11; Matt. 19:9.


• C. Sin embargo, aunque tales decepciona-dos sufren mucho, no se pueden comparar con los que serán decepcionados en Día Final.

• C. However, although these disappointed people suffer greatly, they cannot be compared to those who will be disappointed on the Final Day.


• III. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados en el Día Final . Habrá mucho remordimiento (regret).

• III. Many will be surprised and disappointed on the Final Day. There will be much regret.


• 1. Porque creían que toda la buena gente sería salva, que era demasiada buena para ser condenada.

• 1. Because they believed that all good people will be saved, that they are too good to be condemned.


• A. Pero estos no habían estudiado su Biblia. No habían estudiado Hech. 10:2, 22.

• A. But these had not studied their Bible. They hadn’t studied Acts 10:2, 22.


• Que Cornelio era hombre piadoso y temeroso de Dios, muy generoso, oraba a Dios siempre, justo, tenía buen testimonio…

• That Cornelius was a devout God-fearing man, very generous, prayed always to God, righteous, had a good reputation…


• pero que tuvo que obedecer al evangelio para ser salvo, Hech. 11:14; 10:48.

• but he had to obey the gospel to keep from being lost, Acts 10:48.


• B. Les convenía leer Romanos 3:23, que todos hemos pecado y al pecar somos pecadores perdidos aunque seamos como Cornelio.

• B. They should have read Rom. 3:23, that we have all sinned and when we sin we are lost sinners even though we are like Cornelius.


• Por eso, Cristo vino al mundo para morir por todos, incluyendo la “gente buena” (porque ellos también son pecadores).

• Therefore Christ came to the world to die for everyone, including the “good people” (because they also are sinners).


• 2. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque creían que basta con ser religioso.

• 2. Many will be surprised and disappointed because they believed that it’s enough to be religious.


• A. Muchos dicen que son “creyentes”, que creen en Dios, y hablan bien de Cristo y creen que con eso escaparán la condenación eterna.

• A. Many say that they are “believers,” that they believe in God, and they speak well of Christ and believe that with that they will escape eternal condemnation.


• B. Esta es una creencia muy común, muy popular. Hacen oración de vez en cuando, asisten a alguna iglesia de vez en cuando, cantan, oyen el sermón, aun ofrendan.

• B. This is a very common and popular belief. They pray once in awhile, attend some church once in awhile, sing, listen to the sermon, even give.


• C. Pero ¿qué dice Cristo? Mat. 7:21; Luc. 6:46.

• C. But what does Christ say? Matt. 7:21; Lk. 6:46.


• 3. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque creían que todo el mundo tiene el derecho a su propia creencia.

• 3. Many will be surprised and disappointed because they believed that everyone has a right to his own belief.


• A. Desde luego, sí tiene este derecho legalmente, pero espiritualmente no.

• A. Of course, they do have this right legally, but spiritually no.


• B. Si la creencia de todo el mundo es la verdad, ¿cómo puede alguien creer una mentira y ser condenado? 2 Tes. 2:10-12.

• B. If the belief of everyone is truth, how can anyone believe a lie and be condemned? 2 Thess. 2:10-12.


• 4. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados al darse cuenta de que no pueden ser salvos por la fe sola.

• 4. Many will be surprised and disappointed when they realize that they cannot be saved by faith only.


• A. Una de las doctrinas más populares en el mundo religioso es la salvación por la gracia sola y la fe sola.

• A. One of the most popular doctrines in the religious world is salvation by grace only and faith only.


• Es el tema principal de millones. Lo enfatizan mucho en toda la predicación…

• It is the principal theme of millions. They strongly emphasize it in all their preaching..


• En los púlpitos, por televisión y radio y por la hoja impresa.

• In their pulpits, on television and radio and through the printed page.


• B. Creen que con esto dan toda la honra a Dios como Soberano y a Cristo como único Salvador.

• B. They believe that with this they give all the honor to God as Sovereign and to Christ as the only Savior.


• C. Creen que si aceptan que el hombre tiene que obedecer a Dios y guardar sus mandamientos para ser salvo…

• C. They believe that if they accept that man has to obey God and keep His commandments to be saved …


• que esto negaría la soberanía de Dios y la suficiencia de la sangre de Cristo.

• this would deny the sovereignty of God and the sufficiency of the blood of Christ.


• D. Serán decepcionados porque no creyeron a Jesús y sus apóstoles cuando dijeron que tenemos que obedecer al evangelio para ser salvos:

• D. They will be disappointed because they did not believe Jesus and His apostles when they said that we have to obey the gospel to be saved:


• Mat. 7:21; Mar. 16:16; Jn. 14:15, 23; Hech. 2:38; 1 Ped. 4:17 (pregunta); 2 Tes. 1:6-8 (respuesta).

• Matt. 7:21; Mark 16:16; John 14:15, 23; Acts 2:38; 1 Pet. 4:17 (question); 2 Thess. 1:6-8, (answer).


• 5. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados en el Día Final porque creían que Dios aceptaría cualquier culto que les agradara a ELLOS.

• 5. Many will be surprised and disappointed in the Final Day because they believed that God would accept any kind of worship that pleased THEM.


• A. Pero ¿no habían leído Mat. 15:8, 9? Jesús dijo claramente que hay culto vano, culto no aceptable ante los ojos de Dios.

• A. But hadn’t they read Matt. 15:8, 9? Jesus clearly said that there is vain worship, worship not acceptable to God.


• B. La Biblia revela lo que Dios quiere, 1 Cor. 2:11-13. ¿Sabe usted lo que a usted le gusta? También Dios sabe lo que a El le gusta y nos dice en su palabra.

• B. The Bible reveals what God wants, 1 Cor. 2:11-13. Do you know what you like? God knows what He likes too and He tells us in His word.


• Y hay mucha diferencia entre lo que Dios quiere y lo que el hombre quiere, Isa. 55:8, 9.

• And there is much difference between what God wants and what man wants, Isa. 55:8, 9.


• C. En el Día Final muchos dirán, “Señor, a mí me gustó mucho el culto que te ofrecimos –

• C. In the Final Day many will say, “But, Lord, I liked very much the worship that we offered you –


• el quemar incienso, sonar campanas, tocar instrumentos de música, tener coros, exigir el diezmo, hablar en lenguas, etc…

• burning incense, ringing bells, playing instruments of music, choruses, requiring the tithe, speaking in tongues, etc…


• y creíamos que estas cosas serían muy agradables a Ti también”. Estos quedarán bien decepcionados.

• and we thought that these things would be very pleasing to you also.” These will be sorely disappointed.


• D. Incluso muchos miembros de la iglesia de Cristo serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque pensaban que Dios aceptaría su servicio negligente y desidioso.

• D. Also many members of the church of Christ will be surprised and disappointed because they thought that God would accept their negligent, careless service.


• No asisten fielmente, llegan tarde, no buscan primeramente el reino pero creen que serán salvos. Lea Apoc. 2 y 3 para ver lo que Jesús piensa de tales iglesias.

• They don’t attend faithfully and arrive late, don’t seek first the kingdom but they think they will be saved. Read Rev. 2 and 3 to see what Jesus thinks of such churches.


• 6. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque cuando Cristo vino no hubo “Rapto Secreto” y “Gran Tribulación” en la tierra.

• 6. Many will be surprised and disappointed because when Christ came there was no “Secret Rapture” and “Great Tribulation” on earth.


• A. El mundo evangélico está fascinado por la serie de libros titulados “Left Behind” (“Dejados Atrás”)…

• A. The evangelical world is fascinated with the series of books entitled “Left Behind”…


• basados en el uso malo de Mat. 24:40, 41 (que se refiere la destrucción de Jerusalén, año 70) y 1 Tes. 4:16, 17 (arrebatados en el Día Final).

• based on the misuse of Matt. 24:40, 41 (refers to destruction of Jerusalem, A.D. 70) and 1 Thess. 4:16, 17 (caught up on the Final Day).


• B. Según esta teoría falsa (fábula): habrá Rapto Secreto para evitar “Gran Tribulación” en la tierra por siete años;

• B. According to this false theory (fable): there will be a Secret Rapture to avoid the Great Tribulation on earth for seven years;


• Entonces resurrección de los santos; reino de mil años; resurrección de los infieles. Van a quedar bien decepcionados porque no habrá nada de esto.

• Then resurrection of the saints; thousand year reign; resurrection of the unfaithful. They are going to be completely disappointed because none of this will happen.


• 7. Muchos quedarán decepcionados en el Día Final porque ni siquiera creían que habría Juicio Final.

• 7. Many will be disappointed on the Final Day because they didn’t even believe there would be a Judgment Day.


• A. Muchos no creen en Dios, no creen la Biblia y por eso serán completamente sorprendidos cuando tengan que comparecer ante Dios en aquel día.

• A. Many don’t believe in God, don’t believe the Bible and therefore will be completely surprised when they have to appear before God on that day.


• B. Muchos se han convencido de la evolución y no creen que Dios es el Creador y si El no es el Creador tampoco será el Juez.

• B. Many have been convinced of evolution and they don’t believe that God is the Creator and if He is not the Creator neither will He be the Judge.


• C. Serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque no leyeron o no creyeron 2 Cor. 5:10, 11; Heb. 9:27; Apoc. 20:11-15.

• C. They will be surprised and disappointed because they did not read or did not believe 2 Cor. 5:10, 11; Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:11-15.


• 8. Aquellos que pensaban erróneamente que habían hecho milagros en el nombre de Jesús.

• 8. Those who thought erroneously that they had done miracles in the name of Jesus.


• Mat. 7:22, “Muchos me dirán en aquel día: '¡Señor, Señor! ¿No profetizamos en tu nombre?...

• Matt. 7:22, "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name…


• ¿En tu nombre no echamos demonios? ¿Y en tu nombre no hicimos muchos milagros?” También dirán, “¿No hablamos en lenguas en tu nombre?”

• cast out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?” Also they will say: “¿Didn’t we speak in tongues in your name?”


• Todos estos serán muy sorprendidos y muy decepcionados en el Día Final.

• All of these will be very surprised and sorely disappointed on the Final Day.


• A. Mat. 7:23, “Y entonces les declararé: "Jamás os conocí; apartaos de mi, los que practicáis la iniquidad (sin ley, autoridad).

• A. Matt. 7:23, "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'


• B. Muchos piensan, “Pero estos son muy sinceros, religiosos; tienen mucho entusiasmo por el Señor”.

• B. Many think, “But these are very sincere, very religious. They have much zeal, much enthusiasm for the Lord.”


• Es muy importante ser sinceros, religiosos, tener celo y entusiasmo, pero para no quedar decepcionados en aquel día… ¡Mat. 7:21!

• It is very important to be sincere, religious, zealous, enthusiastic, but in order to not be disappointed on that day… Matt. 7:21!


• 9. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque la tierra no será renovada sino quemada.

• 9. Many will be surprised and disappointed because the earth will not be renovated but rather destroyed.


• A. Ecles. 1:4, “la tierra siempre permanece”. En algunos textos del A. T. “siempre” no significa “eterno”. Ex. 21:6.

• A. Eccles. 1:4, “the earth abides forever.” In some texts of the O.T. “forever” is not “eternal”. Ex. 21:6.


• B. 2 Ped. 3:10. No es lenguaje figurado. Vea el v. 6. Es la misma tierra que fue inundada. Sal. 102:25, 26 (Heb. 1:10, 11).

• B. 2 Ped. 3:10. This is not figurative language. See v. 6. It’s the same earth that was flooded. Ps. 102:25, 26 (Heb. 1:10, 11).


• 10. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados al reconocer que sus líderes religiosos eran falsos maestros…

• 10. Many will be surprised and disappointed on realizing that their religious leaders were false teachers


• y que sus libros eran puras fábulas (escritos católicos, Libro de Mormón, libros de los testigos, etc.). 2 Tim. 4:2-4.

• and their books were pure fables (Catholic writings, Book of Mormon, Watchtower books, etc.). 2 Tim. 4:2-4.


• A. Serán decepcionados porque no hicieron caso de Mat. 7:15; 15:14; 1 Tim. 4:1-3; 1 Jn. 4:1.2.

• A. They will be disappointed because they paid no attention to Matt. 7:15; 15:14; 1 Tim. 4:1-3; 1 Jn. 4:1, 2.


• Y en aquel día estarán abandonados por sus líderes como algunos son abandonados por los coyotes en el desierto de Arizona.

• In that day they will be abandoned by their leaders like some are abandoned by the coyotes en the Arizona desert.


• B. No reconocían que eran lobos rapaces. Hech. 20:29, 30. ¿Y dónde estarán estos maestros en el Día Final? ¿Les pueden ayudar a sus seguidores?

• B. Didn’t realize that they were ravening wolves. Acts 20:29, 30. And where will these teachers be on the Final Day? Will they be able to help their followers?


• Conclusion. A. Estas son consecuencias horribles. Toda esperanza de los tales quedará por el suelo, aplastada. Prov. 10:28.

• Conclusión. A. These are terrible consequences. All hope of such people dashed to the ground. Prov. 10:28.


• Pero Gál. 6:7 es siempre cierto: Gál. 6:7, “No os engañéis; Dios no puede ser burlado. Todo lo que el hombre siembre, eso mismo segará”.

• But Gal. 6:7 is always true: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”


• Muchos piensan que sus pecados serán olvidados pero para Dios un día es como mil años y mil años como un día, 2 Ped. 3:8.

• Many think that their sins will be forgotten, but with God one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day, 2 Pet. 3:8.


• B. Para muchos habrá amargo remordimiento. Su gozo será convertido en lloro y crujir de dientes. ¡Qué cambio de semblante!

• B. For many there will be bitter remorse. Their joy will be converted into weeping and gnashing of teeth. What a change of expression on their face!


• C. Los fieles no quedarán decepciona-dos. 1 Ped. 2:6, “…el que cree en Él jamás será avergonzado (o decepcionado)”.

• C. The faithful will not be disappointed. 1 Pet. 2:6, “… he who believes in him shall not be disappointed."


• D. Muchos serán sorprendidos y decepcionados porque no pensaban nunca confesar a Cristo, pero sí le van a confesar en aquel día. Fil. 2:9-11.

• D. Many will be surprised and disappointed because they thought they would never confess Christ but in that day they will. Phil. 2:9-11.
