Lakes Corvette Club Newsletter DECEMBER 2016 President’s Message Hi everyone, Lots of things have taken place since the last newsletter. First of all, I certainly hope you and your family had a very Happy Thanksgiving and did not eat too much turkey, trimmings or dessert. We finished attending the local fall car shows, we attended some of the toys for tots’ programs, and we started to prepare for the annual club election of officers and of course the Christmas Holidays. Our Christmas party will again be at the Medford Village Country Club. The date is Friday, Dec 9th from 7pm to 11pm. The social hour will be from 7pm to 8pm with served Hors d'oeuvre. The meal, entertainment and dancing will follow. We thank Karen Andrews and Sissie Flynn for all the arrangements. Also a gigantic thank you to Vic Rubino for the evening of entertainment and Music. As most of you know, the last meeting in November was our nomination of officers for the year 2017. First off, thank you to our Nominations Committee Chairman Sharon Grossman and her husband/assistant, Carl Grossman for a job well done. The committee presented a slate with an officer for every office. Nominations for each office were opened to the floor. When all nominations were closed we had one candidate per office. Of course, an election was not required. The Secretary was directed to cast a ballot of acclamation. (A ballot cast by the secretary for a candidate who is the only person nominated for an office)
