ASCENSION CATHOLIC CHURCH
SECOND GRADE FIRST RECONCILIATION On Saturday, December 12th our second grade students will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation! We ask our parish family and friends to please pray for these students as they culminate their preparations for the Sacrament of their First Reconciliation and come to know the loving mercy of the Lord Jesus more deeply in their lives.
NO CLASS—DECEMBER 16th Due to a lack of catechists and substitute catechists, Faith Formation classes for all session times on Wednesday December 16th have been cancelled. The last day of Faith Formation classes for all in-class students this semester will now be on Wednesday, December 9th. Classes will resume as normal on Wednesday, January 6th. See you in the new year!

FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is Tuesday,
December 8th. It is a holy day of obligation. Masses will be at 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. Hospitality ministers, lectors, video operators, and altar servers are needed. You may sign up on Ministry Pro, call 223-3606, or email Rita at [email protected]. Thank you for your service.
COMPASSION MINISTRY We are looking for parishioners that are interested in participating in the Compassion Ministry. The Compassion Ministry reaches out to Ascension Parishioners when they have experienced a loss of a family member due to a death. Currently there are six groups that actively participate in this ministry. Each group has five to eight individuals that work together to provide a home visit, a meal, prayers, or other short-term assistance, if needed.
This ministry was started eight years ago, and since that time we have reached out to more than 150 families. If you are interested in participating, or you would like more information, please contact Tammie Johnson at 226-5380.
CHILDREN’S ENVELOPES Children’s envelopes were distributed in Faith Formation classes on Wednesday, November 18th to those who re-quested them. For those families whose children are doing home study or attend Light of Christ Catholic schools, you may pick up envelopes in the church foyer. If you did not request envelopes for your child(ren), you may pick up a box in the church foyer and sign your child’s name by the number on the sheet provided. Thank you for teaching your children the values of stewardship: time, talent, and treasure.
RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS In good times and bad, senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests have dedicated themselves to service and acts of mercy. Today, they pray for an aching world. Yet years of serving for little or no pay have left their religious communities without enough retirement savings.
