Immaculate Conception Mass

We will have a mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, December 8 at 9am. Don’t forget it’s a holy day of obligation!

Parent Program

Come join us on December 9th from 9:45 to 10:45am at the school cafeteria to learn more about the advent season.

Over 50’s Christmas Party

Our Christmas party will be Dec. 10 at the Historic Green Manor Restaurant: 6400 Westbrook Avenue, Union City. We will gather at 6 Pm for food and frivolity. Each person should bring a white elephant for our gift exchange. By now you should have money to Jack Warber, if not you have a few days to do so. Our count needs to be in by Dec. 5.

NEWS FROM OUR PARISH

The St. Matthew Craft/Community Service Guild would like to thank you for supporting our Bake Sale. The proceeds from this event allow us to purchase candy to fill our Stockings for the Vets and Troops. This year

we have made 800 stockings and each one will be given with the love of the St. Matthew family. Thank you so very much.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, you are incredible, awesome, amazing! Out of 148 possible meals, 99 complete family dinners were returned to us last weekend! This

means that YOU fed at least 99 families, which also means you literally fed hundreds of people. The members of SVdP feel are so blessed that our Parish family so generously supports our mission of caring for those in need. We would love for you to join us in this much needed work.

El club de artesania quiere agradecerte por apoyar nuestra venta de pasteles. Las ganancias de este evento nos permiten comprar dulces para llenar nuestras medias para los veterinarios y las tropas. Este año

hemos hecho 800 medias y cada una se entregará con el amor de la familia de San Mateo. Muchas gracias.

Hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, ustedes son increíbles, increíbles, increíbles. ¡De las 148 comidas posibles, el fin de semana pasado nos devolvieron 99 cenas familiares completas!

Esto significa que USTED alimentó al menos a 99 familias, lo que también significa que literalmente alimentó a cientos de personas. Los miembros de SVdP se sienten tan bendecidos que nuestra familia parroquial apoya tan generosamente nuestra misión de cuidar a los necesitados. Más de 50 fiesta navideña Nuestra fiesta de Navidad será el 10 de diciembre en el histórico restaurante Green Manor: 6400 Westbrook Avenue, Union City. Nos reuniremos a las 6 de la mañana para comida y frivolidad. Cada persona debe traer un regalo para nuestro inter-cambio de regalos.

Este mes, Tus amigos en el atrio son tres ministerios aquí en la parroquia: limpieza de la Iglesia , Grupo de rosario y Sociedad de altar.

Limpieza de la Iglesia

Metas y propósito: limpiar la iglesia, el atrio, la capilla y los confesionarios cada semana. Responsabilidades: Aspirar, limpiar el polvo, limpiar vidrios, pulir, enderezar y mantener nuestras hermosas instalacio-nes. Este grupo trabajador disfruta pasar tiempo juntos y es vital para el éxito de nuestra parroquia. Los nuevos volunta-rios siempre son bienvenidos. Compromiso de tiempo: martes por la mañana después de la misa de las 9:00 AM. Requisito de capacitación: entrenamiento en el trabajo pro-porcionado.

Grupo de rosario Metas y Propósito: Fomentar la devoción a nuestra Santísi-ma Madre rezando el Rosario. Se proporcionarán folletos de rosarios y rosarios. Responsabilidades: rezar el Rosario con nuestra familia pa-rroquial de San Mateo y orar por nuestra familia parroquial, los que están en nuestra lista de oración y todos los que necesitan oraciones. Por favor, llame o envíe un correo electrónico a Helen Martin si tiene alguna intención de ora-ción. Compromiso de tiempo: el grupo se reúne en la capilla des-pués de la misa de las 9:00 AM los jueves.

Sociedad del altar Objetivos y propósito: lavar corporales, purificadores y toa-llas de lavabo utilizados en la celebración de la misa. Los corporales y los purificadores deben plancharse y las toallas de lavabo deben plegarse. Responsabilidades: Recoger los manteles semanalmente durante un mes. Las manchas deben eliminarse, la ropa de cama debe lavarse y plancharse y devolverse dentro de la semana.

This month, Your Friends in the Narthex are three minis-tries here at the parish: Church Cleaning, Rosary Group, and Altar Society.

Church Cleaning Goals & Purpose: To clean the church, narthex, chapel and confessionals each week. Responsibilities: To vacuum, dust, clean glass, polish, straighten and maintain our beautiful facilities. This in-dustrious group enjoys spending time together and is vital to the success of our parish. New volunteers are always welcome. Time Commitment: Tuesday mornings after the 9:00 AM Mass. Training Requirement: On the job training provided.

Rosary Group Goals & Purpose: To encourage devotion to our Blessed Mother by praying the Rosary. Rosary booklets and ro-saries will be provided. Responsibilities: To say the Rosary with our Saint Matthew Parish Family and to pray for our parish family, those on our prayer list, and all in need of prayers. Please call or email Helen Martin if you have any prayer intentions. Time Commitment: The group meets in the chapel after 9:00 AM Mass on Thursdays.

Altar Society

Goals & Purpose: To wash corporals, purificators and lavabo towels used in the celebration of Mass. Corporals and purificators need to be ironed and lavabo towels need to be folded. Responsibilities: To pick up linens on a weekly basis for one month. Stains need to be removed, linens washed and ironed, and returned within the week. Time Commitment: Each volunteer is assigned one month each year.

FAITH FORMATION FORMACION DE FE

El mes pasado estuvo muy ocupado para la formación en la fe. ¡Echa un vistazo a lo que estaba pasando!

Lifeteen visitó a Nuestra Señora de Lourdes para estable-cer relaciones y compartir la experiencia de nuestra fe con otro grupo de jóvenes.

Nuestro nuevo ministerio, YAM, es nuestro ministerio de jóvenes adultos que sirve a cualquier persona católica de 18 a 29 años de edad a través de diversas necesidades. Los dos eventos de inicio fueron la lumbrada y la cena de acción de amigos.

En nuestro programa EDGE, padre Kevin los visitó por la tarde para hablarles sobre la adoración y el santisimo.

This past month was very busy for faith formation. Take a look at what was going on!

Lifeteen visited Our Lady of Lourdes to build relationships and share the experience of our faith with another youth group.

Our new ministry, YAM, is our young adult ministry which serves any Catholic ages 18-29 through various needs. The Two kick-off events were the bonfire, and the Friendsgiving.

In our EDGE program, Fr. Kevin visited them for am afternoon to talk to them about adoration and the blessed sacrament.
