How We're Tracking Oaks Aspire achieved good results 2015. The new trend in the accommodation sector was visible in December with leisure and corporate customers booking “last minute,” which saw a larger than normal occupancy pick up within the month. This can be partly attributed to Oaks Hotels & Resorts focus on online marketing to increase the revenue and create brand awareness. December started with a good base occupancy. However, the corporate demand dropped as expected. Defence families from interstate were welcomed at Oaks Aspire during the Christmas and New Year period. Group booking towards at the end of month boosted occupancy finishing on 57%. As we move forward to next year you will receive our newsletter on quarterly basis. There is a good occupancy base for the next quarter with group bookings for Basketball tournament in February and CMC rocks concert taking place in March. We trust that you had a Merry Christmas. We look forward to working closely with you in the New Year 2016! Property Improvements During 2015 the carpet in the apartments were replaced and new bed and sofa cushions were sourced. Various sinking fund items were completed in the common areas throughout the year with assistance from the Body Corporate Committee. Wire balustrade at the front of the building has been removed and powder coated aluminium panels have been installed. They look quite trendy. We are in the process of obtaining quotes for the new pool gas heater, intercom and tiles replacement in the reception foyer. Driving Business December has produced another strong performance for Oaks Aspire. As expected, corporate travel softened mid- month with the onset of the Christmas Holiday period. With this however brings an increase in relocation business from the Department of Defence which again assisted occupancies throughout the quieter holiday period. The year finished on a high with maximum occupancies achieved over New Year’s Eve. The property also received exposure through several marketing campaigns in conjunction with our online partners whilst our Central Reservations Team continued to convert maximum phone enquiry further contributing to another successful month. Sales & Marketing This month the Regional Queensland Sales Team was busy recontracting a number of corporate clients for 2016. Bechtel was the biggest win confirming 750 room nights into Oaks Rivermarque and 650 room nights into Oaks Grand Gladstone after several weeks of negotiation. Overall all Regional Queensland properties have either met or exceeded occupancy for December with the Coastal properties coming into their peak season and doing exceptionally well.
