December 2013 Updates:
Gymbaroo open class
On the last Saturday of the term I wasn’t working at the
gallery so I could join the family to see what they have
been up to in Gymbaroo.
Barak and Alma enthusiastically showed off their excellent teamwork.
They always keep their sense of humour while enjoying the many activities!
Alma loves doing everything, and tries
out every activity several times, all with a
big smile on!
After finishing the session in the big apparatus room they follow an obstacle course (Alma was the first one on the course and did everything beautifully!)
Next they go into the second room and follow the instructions of their two teachers, exercising, reading the word of the day, singing and dancing.
The parents actually don’t participate in most of the class. They sit around, listen to
the explanations from the teacher that explains why they do a certain action or game and sometimes help a bit with the
kids (like in the top right picture, where Alma is lying down for a “crocodile massage”)
There are many fine motor skills and pair games,And they work on a theme and a vocabulary each
term.
This term it was wild animals and measurements.
They have a parachute time (top)Make rhythm and beat with sticks (middle)
And read the word of the day (as it was Christmas approaching, the word was Reindeer)
After the lesson, the hungry family enjoyed the nice next door Italian
restaurant. Yum!
After the restaurant we enjoyed some music outdoors. Alma started dancing while Barak and Hahgoot went to read in the shade.
It is a mystery why Barak chose to sit so far...
In our next presentation:
Alma the studious!
