TREASURE CAMPAIGN
Many thanks to those 152 families of which 56% pledged last year and who have returned their commitment cards. If you have not returned your card we encourage you to complete and return your card and be counted in this year’s campaign. Please be generous as you can and support the parish and its programs. If you would prefer you can complete your card on line by visiting our website at http://www.stbernardparish.org/2018.
You can also “grow” your commitment by signing up for online giving or electronic payment. We have two options available, through your checking or savings account via WaterStone Bank or you can use your credit card. We have parishioners who contribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannually and annually. For more information on electronic processing please visit our website at http://www.stbernardparish.org/Online-Giving. If you sign up for online giving to start in January, a generous donor will match your annual amount by 10%. How great is that! If you have any questions please feel free to call Christine Meyer in the church office.

Wauwatosa Catholic School serves a diverse community of learners by teaching our students to live Christ centered lives, to embrace Catholic values, and to excel academically, while developing leaders who have a passion to serve and create a better world.
It is time for the WCS Staff Giving Trees!
Each ornament on the tree has a wish list of items requested by a staff member. Please spread the holiday cheer by selecting an ornament and donating to a classroom. The process is simple. Choose an ornament, purchase the desired item and place the wrapped item under the tree. Don't forget to attach the ornament and write who the gift is from! The trees are set up at St. Bernard and St. Pius X Parishes and also outside of the school office. Merry Christmas !
CHRISTMAS CARDS AND PLANTS FOR
THE HOMEBOUND
Help us bring joy to our homebound. On, Monday, December 18th , at 7:00 pm in
the back of Church, we will distribute the cards collected during Advent and a poinsettia plant to volunteers who will then deliver them any time before Christmas. Enter the Church-vestibule doors from the Wauwatosa Ave. parking lot. We need volunteers to help with this project. Make it a family affair. Those who are homebound, or living in a care facility, especially enjoy visiting with the children and youth. What a wonderful way to express the Spirit of Christmas! Please consider helping us! Questions, or for more information, please call Joan Melchior, at 771-8859.
Thank you to all who addressed a card(s).
“For I was ‘homebound’ and you came to visit me…”
“It’s time again to be a holiday hero! Please
consider donating blood at Dick’s 18th blood
drive, sponsored by Wauwatosa Catholic School,
on Saturday, December 30th from 8:00 am to
1:00 pm., in the cafeteria at St. Pius X. Blood
supplies always run low over the holidays, but
unfortunately the need never takes a
holiday. You can make an appointment online by
going to “www.bcw.edu/Dicks18” or by calling
Mary at 414-915-4147. As a thank you, a $10
Amazon gift card will be given to all attempting
donors. A pancake and
sausage breakfast will be
served to all attempting donors
and their guests. Thank you for
your continued support.”
2017 YEAR-END CONTRIBUTIONS
You are reminded that contributions for calendar year 2017 must be received in the parish office by December 31 or in an envelope postmarked no later than December 31, 2017. For your convenience, the parish office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm the week after Christmas starting December 26.
A check dated December 31, 2017 or earlier, but not in the parish’s possession or in a valid postmarked envelope and received by the parish office on January 1 or later is a 2018 contribution. As always, thank you for your support and happy holidays!
CALENDAR COLLECTION FOR VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL
The Veterans Administration Hospital services our veterans daily. They have a program to help our veterans remember their many appointments. The VA provides calendars for the coming year to the vets who need them. The VA Hospital is looking for
2018 calendars that can be donated for this service. Do you have any 2018 calendars sent to you in "junk" mail? These calendars could be used by this VA program. If you have any of these unsolicited 2018 calendars, please place them in a box in the back of Church. Thank you so much for your help in this service to our veterans! This collection will continue until mid-January. Last year between Christ King and St. Bernard we collected over 1000 calendars for the Vets. Let's see if we can beat that amount this year!

FAMILIES IN FAITH
About us: St. Bernard’s Families in Faith is a grassroots effort by parish families to organize service, religious and social activities. The group's mission is to nurture faith and love within our families, especially our children. Visit our Facebook page to join today! https://www.facebook.com/groups/St. Bernard's Families in Faith. Not on Facebook? No problem! Email [email protected] to stay connected.
Parents, looking for a service project suitable for children of all ages this Christmas season? Consider helping the parish’s long-time tradition of making and delivering cards to our homebound parishioners. Your family can help!
Visit our homebound parishioners the week before Christmas to deliver cards and plants provided by the parish. Imagine the joy your family will give (and receive) when you hand-deliver these gifts to the homebound. See Human Concerns section of bulletin for further details.
A MESSAGE TO GAIL MARTIN & THE CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Congratulations to your chorus of approximately 20 students. They sang for us last night and did a superb job. At age 87, I did not know there were so many Christmas songs. The singers knew them all and sang as if they were enjoying themselves. That made us enjoy them more. Your group of singers and the director and piano accompanist should be highly complimented.
Sincerely, Ceil Braza (Hart Park Square Resident)
5TH GRADERS CHECK OUT NEW
