Montana Governor Steve Bullock and Commissionero Labor Pam Bucy have announced that theUnemployment Insurance Contribution Rate Schedulewill be adjusted rom schedule 5 to schedule 3 in 2015. Tis means the unemployment insurancecontribution rates or most employers in 2015 willbe approximately 20 percent lower than in 2014. Te
current schedule 5 average tax rate is 1.92 percent. For2015, the average rate will be 1.52 percent. As a result, most Montana employers will see a decrease in UI taxesdue or the next year. Montanans are on the job and businesses arethriving, Bullock said o the rate reduction. Becauseo our strong economy, were able to reduce theunemployment insurance rate or employers, keepingthousands o dollars in the pockets o Main StreetMontana businesses. From 2010 through 2012, Montana employers
contribution rates increased due to the higher levelso unemployment claims. As a result o the improvedeconomy and rebuilding o the unemployment trustund, the rate schedule has been dropping since 2013. Inprior years, the schedule adjustment was a single level ora .2 percent rate change. Tis is the first year since the
2015 unemployment insurance rates to decrease for many Montana employersGreat Recession that the schedule has dropped two levels. Tis rate decrease, along with increases inMontana wages and employment is strong evidencethat Montanas economy is rebounding well, said LaborCommissioner Pam Bucy.
Unemployment Insurance benefits lighten theburden o being out o work, maintain purchasing power
in the community, and allow laid off employees to stayin Montana so they will be available or re-employment.Te program stabilizes the local and state economyby preventing a sharp drop in consumer spendingduring periods o unemployment. UnemploymentInsurance benefits are paid with Montana employersUnemployment Insurance contributions.

We (very strongly) beg to differ Without (graduated senior Jill Barta), it seemsimpossible that the (Fairfield) Eagles will even have awinning season, let alone one win, based on how much theydepended on Barta in the championship, said the story in aMontana newspaper afer Fairfield deeated Malta 60-55 indouble overtime to win the 2014 Montana Class B girls statechampionship or the ourth season in a row, which includes
a still-active 104-game winning streak! Worry not, Fairfield ans, as you can bet your house, your arm, all your vehicles, all your everything that theEagles will win at least one game this season and you candouble down on having another winning season. Yes, theEagles did lose Barta, Allie Steinbach and the Coverdelltwins to graduation, but i anyone thinks or a second thereturning Eagles arent undamentally sound, hard workersand addicted to winning, think again. When you practice everyday against the talent levelweve had here, you get better, Fairfield head coach Dustin
Gordon said o this seasons team during a December9 telephone interview with the Daniels County Leader.Teyre pretty solid. Te Eagles became even more solid when the Klinkersisters, senior Lizzy and sophomore Natalie, whose oldersibling Molly plays or Robin Selvigs University o MontanaGrizzlies, transerred rom Great Falls High. Both grewup on a arm near Fairfield and played their junior highbasketball with the Eagles. Lizzy was even on the roster othe 2010-11 state title team. Due to amily-business reasons, however, they moved to Great Falls and became Bison
athletes or a ew years. According to Gordon, the GreatFalls-based business was recently sold, which allowed theKlinker amily to move back to the Fairfield area. Shell be a difference maker, Gordon said o the
5-oot-9 Lizzy, who was selected to the 2014 Class AAEastern Conerence second team and could possibly getoffered a Division 1 college scholarship to continue playing. Gordon said Lizzy and Natalie will be in the startinglineup today (Fri., Dec. 12), when the Eagles ace MissoulaLoyola Sacred Heart in Tree Forks. Its an intriguingseason opener considering the Heartbreakers played in lastsprings State B ournament, losing to Shepherd (52-43)
and Manhattan (48-43), and who Gordon believes is oneo the contenders that could capture this seasons Class Bstate title (along with, he says, Bigork, Choteau, Forsyth,Malta and Shepherd). Gordon, whose returners played between 25-30 gamesin June in places like Seeley, Conrad, Dillon and at theirown team camp in Fairfield, was asked i his Eagles mightmeet Malta again this season, the other hal o one o thegreatest basketball games ever played in Montana? I hope so, he answered. We dont have the depth butbarring injury we might see them, maybe in a Friday nightsemifinal. Daniels County Leader, Scobey

When I was younger I hated going to weddings...it seemed that all o my aunts and the grandmotherlytypes used to come up to me, poking me in the ribs andcackling, telling me, Youre next. Tey stopped theirpoking afer I started doing the same thing to them atunerals.
Question: What do you get i Santa comes downyour chimney when the fire is ablaze?
Answer:Crisp Kringle.
Did you hear about the filthy old biker who putOdor Eaters in his riding boots?
Tree days later, he disappeared.
Jenniferwas a pretty 18-year-old girl. In the weekbeore Christmas she sauntered up to the curtaincounter, and was trying to decide which o the manytypes o tinsel she would buy. Finally, she made herchoice and asked the spotty youth who was manning theabric section. How much is this gold tinsel garland? Te spotty youth pointed to the Christmas mistletoeabove the counter and said, Tis week we have a specialoffer, just one kiss per yard.
Wow, that sounds like a great deal, said Jennier,'Ill take 12 yards! With expectation and anticipation written all overhis ace, the boy measured out the tinsel, wrapped upthe garland, and gave it to Jennier. She then called to an old man who had beenbrowsing through the Christmas trees and said, MyGrandpa will settle the bill.
A song told meto Deck the Halls...so I did. Mr. andMrs. Hall are not very happy.
