I hope this letter finds everyone with thankful hearts and enjoying all the delights of the holidays. The ladies of Hathor Temple No. 38 have been busy with our Wednesday luncheons we serve at High Twelve. We have such a good time in the kitchen and always look forward to preparing these home-cooked meals. We are still selling Egyptian cotton sheet sets for another fundraiser. They are super soft and come in any size for just $40. Please consider ordering them for gifts for any upcoming occasions: birthdays, weddings, or for yourself. Another terrific gift idea is to order gifts from the Daughters of the Nile website that will benefit the foundation. Our temple gets credit for any of those purchases, and there are many lovely items that would be fantastic gifts. This is a great way to support our cause. The December meeting is coming up on the 12th, and we would love to see everyone there. I know Saturdays are difficult for some people. If there is any interest in finding a new date to meet, we can discuss some options. May this Christmas season bring you comfort and joy, and all the blessings of the holidays. !

Each Princess of our organization has a history that is important to her office. The past of each Princess brings greater understanding to her as an individual and as a servant to the Queen.

Queen Nefertiti - Was the royal consort of Amenopophis IV, or King Akhanaten. An enigmatic and reserved personality, cryptic look, fine curvature of the lips, narrow face and noble features are characteristic of the late Amarna style which was cultivated in the reign of Tutankhamun. Queen Nefertiti is still remembered in history as Egypt's sweetest and most beloved Queen.

I wonder: Have you submitted a Proposal for Membership? Have you recognized the name of a friend as Princess Recorder read the proposals? Did you happen to call the lady(ies) and tell her (them)about Daughters of the Nile? How about the member you ran into at another event that you haven’t seen in session lately? Did you invite her to our next session or tell her about any projects we are doing? Are you tired of seeing all the vacant chairs in session or poor attendance when working on projects? Ladies, we need to work on this. You can submit all the eligible women in our area but you need to communicate with them. Don’t just put in a proposal and hope for the best. If you didn’t happen to catch her phone number, ask Princess Recorder. Tell her about all the wonderful miracles that Shriners Hospitals for Children are doing and that Daughters of the Nile assist the Shriners 100%. Once she has received the invitation from Princess Recorder you can tell her “almost” everything. When was the last time you attended a session? Can’t remember. Well it’s time to come back. Didn’t care for the way the temple was doing something? They might not be doing it that way any longer or not at all. Don’t care to drive or don’t drive anymore, call a member; I’m sure she will come and get you. The session time and date just doesn’t work into your schedule? Did you come and help out with a project then? We can find excuses not to do something, but if all of us do this, where will Hathor Temple be? Did you realize we are the last temple left in the state of Iowa? Are we going to join them? Is this what you want? I hope not for the sake of the children. We need to come together and get a game plan in place for our future. I hope to see you Saturday, December 12th for lunch with the Divan. z High Twelve Fundraiser z

We have been serving the High Twelve lunch every Wednesday before their meeting (9 am to noon). Our pantry needs replenished. If you can, please donate: dish soap, coffee (they'll drink any kind!), powdered Cascade, cake mixes, canned goods, margarine, sugar, and salt. This has been a huge money-maker for our Temple.
