2012 E N D O F Y E A R U P D A T E
This has been a year of remembering
and reflecting. They say a picture is
worth a 1000 words so, Ill try
reflecting through some of the photos
Ive taken and some Ive rediscovered
this year. January was our 25th
wedding anniversary. February was
work and continuing on with my
technology classes from fall. March I
was able to attend the JEMA Womens
Retreat in Nikko. Okio and I went to
Manza Hot Spring for 2 nights. He was
able to share his Cancer Philosophy
Clinic with the owners and they have
started a medical cafe. April, Mom
and Becky traveled to CO for Uncle
Glens 85th birthday. May began with
our visit to see the flowers in Chichibu
and then a call from the States that
Mom had a massive stroke. I flew to the
States and was there for a month. I was
able to attend Stephs graduation from
Calvin. May 31st Uncle Glen left this
earth for his permanent home. Six
hours later, Mom joined him. I returned
to Japan the day before school left out
in June knowing I would be back in the
State in July. I already had a ticket and
plans to spend time in PA and MI.

PHOTOS FROM THIS YEAR
There is much to be thankful for this
past year. As I read my goals for 2012, I
have only accomplished one and that is
to walk everyday. I did lose about 20 kg
this past year. We were able to sell our
house in Asaka!
In February, Okio and I will be going to
Maui. He will be attending a conference
and I will be soaking up sun!
Mariya is looking at attending 24/7
Prayer training from January. Stephanie
is living and working in Grand Rapids.
Jesse will continue at UBC in Canada.
Mami and Masashi are still in Akita. Ari
and Mitsuaki are in Niiza.
This coming school year I am looking at
some changes. I will be moving out of
the 2nd grade classroom(after 13 years)
and into the role of elementary
technology facilitator along with my
head teacher role. Unsure at this time if
that will be all or if there will be other
parts added to make it a full time
contract.
Okio will stay busy with his teaching at
Juntendo, Cancer Philosophy Clinic and
other meetings.
More photos and information is
available on Facebook.
A very Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year.
