UPCOMING LACKLAND ISD MUSICAL PERFORMANCES The Stacey Music Department will be hosting its annual Winter Concert, titled “Sounds for the Season”, on Thursday, December 8, 2011 beginning at 6:30 pm in the elementary gym. Participating ensembles will be the 7 th grade band, the Eagle Band, and the Stacey Chorus. Thursday, December 8 th : Elementary Choir Concert at 5:30 in Elementary Cafeteria Friday, December 9 th : Elementary Choir performance at 2 nd Cup of Coffee at 8a.m. and Choir performance at the BX at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13 th : 3 rd Grade Performance in Lackland Elementary gym at 6pm. What was your favorite childhood hobby?

Playing baseball

What is your favorite thing to do when you are bored?

Listen to Christian music.

Where did you go to school?

Southwest High School

Do you have/did you ever have any pets?

Yes, I had a parakeet.

What is the biggest change in this school from when you started working here till now?

More work around the school!

Do you have any family?

4 brothers, 3 sisters, a mother, and 5 grandchildren

Do you like to cook? And if so, what kinds of foods?

Everything!!

Students in Mrs. Truelove’s kinder class got to spend the points they earned in her “Goods Behavior Store”. After accumulating points for a

month the kids got to trade them in for all sorts of cool gifts. The better behaved the student the more they had to spend on all of the cool stuff.

Excellent!

ATTENTION STACEY SENIORS:

Senate Bill 175, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, allows The University of Texas at

Austin to limit automatic admission to 75 percent of the university’s enrollment

capacity designated for first-time resident undergraduate students beginning with

admissions for the 2011-12 academic year.

The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible 2013

summer/fall freshman applicants who rank within the top 8 percent of their high

school graduating classes, with remaining spaces to be filled through holistic review.

1. Where is your hometown?

I was born and raised right here in San Antonio.

2. How long have you been working for Lackland ISD?

This is my eighth year at Lackland ISD. I did five years as principal of Stacey Jr/Sr High School, and I am in my

third year as superintendent.

3. What is your favorite memory as principal at Stacey?

I have several favorite memories while I was principal at Stacey. My most favorite memories are when I would

take our seniors to Laser Tag every year at the end of the school year, and when we took a group of students to

Washington D.C. for the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

4. What is your favorite part about being superintendent?

Being able to do what is best for the students of Lackland ISD.

5. Where did you attend college?

I attended undergraduate school at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I attended graduate school at Texas

A&M University - Kingsville and post graduate school at Nova Southeastern University.

6. How long have you been in the military and what do you do as a reserve?

I have been in the Army Reserve for 26 years. I am currently a logistics officer for the 4th Expeditionary

Sustainment Command located on Fort Sam Houston.

7. Did you play any sports growing up, in high school, or possibly college?

I attempted to play basketball (I wasn’t very good) in high school, and I ran track for a brief time.

8. What is your favorite vacation spot?

My favorite vacation spots are Richmond, Virginia and Washington, D.C. (in the summer)

9. Do you have any hobbies?

My favorite hobbies include watching movies and traveling.

10. We have all been wondering, what size shoe do you wear?

My shoe size? Interesting question. I wear a size 13 or 14 depending on the make of the shoe.
