Numerous qualifying tournaments throughout the year

Students must earn a minimum of 12 points in order to qualify for TFA State

Points are earned by advancing to quarters, semis, and finals in debate, OR finals of individual events

TFA State is in March

aka NSDA speechanddebate.org A national honor society ONE qualifying tournament in the spring Place 1st or 2nd and qualify for Nationals Must be an NSDA member to compete at

the qualifying tournament Students need 25 NSDA points to be a

member (earn points simply by competing) Nationals in June

students from their school’s division (Coronado is division 6A)

• Public Speaking: Informative and Persuasive (follow the same rules as extemp)
