My dream of studying medicine is not a volatile one based on rumours of the

fullling life of a medic, but rather based on research, an understanding of the

profession and close-up experience. My interest in medicine began when

studying biology and chemistry at secondary school and since then I have

focused my everyday life around seeking medical knowledge.

Being able to participate in ebate !hamber"s Medicine summer school would

conse#uently be a great privilege and honour in helping me to take a step

towards satisfying my ambition and indulging my passion for medicine. $he

course o%ers an implausible and rare insight into medicine and it would be an

honour to be given the means to really widen my knowledge and develop skills I

would otherwise not have come across.

&owever, coming from a relatively poor background, and being the rst

generation in my family to attend university make my pursuit all the more

di'cult, yet I am adamant that this will not stand in my way. $his wonderful

opportunity is a supreme example of endless chances which spoil my desire to

pursue knowledge wherever it can be found, and despite not being able, in anyway, to a%ord the fee, as both my parents are pensioners with insu'cient

income to cover the cost, I remain positive and optimistic that this bursary will

give me the means to take one step towards being able to full my ambition,

with the acknowledgement of this course taking a central role in allowing me to

persevere on the road towards this challenging but immensely rewarding goal.
