Death of the DinosSOME DIFFERENT POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THE FALL OF THE DINOSAURS
Introduction
Dinosaur bones were probably found thousands of years ago, Greeks and Romans may have found bones and thought they were mythical creatures’ bones.
For a long time, scientists have been trying to find the reason why dinosaurs aren’t around anymore.
There are many theories of why dinosaurs became extinct, but none have yet been proved to definitely be the reason for dinosaur doom.
The Different Possible Deaths
Meteor
Volcanoes
Ice age
Disease
• Most popular idea
• Ash blocked the sun
• Dinosaurs froze
• Dinosaurs got ill
Meteor Strike
Most people think a meteor killed the dinosaurs.
The collision had so much force, there was enough dust thrown into the air to block the sun.
The weaker dinosaurs died because of the change of climate.
Without the sun, plants struggled and eventually died out.
Without plants, herbivores died.
Without herbivores to eat, carnivores died too.
Volcanoes
Some people think a lot of volcanic eruptions killed the dinosaurs.
They believe enough ash was flung into the air to block the sun, leading to the same consequences as the meteor strike.
Ice age
Another theory is an ice age freezing the dinosaurs.
Many dinosaurs died of freezing.
In the extreme cold, water would have frozen.
With nothing to drink, the rest of the dinosaurs died.
Disease
Another possibility is that dinosaurs caught a severe sickness and couldn’t survive.
The disease would have been deadly and contagious.
What if one of the theories happen to us
Theory Deadliness rating How we could stop it
Meteor 9/10 Send a rocket with a nuke in it to explode the meteor.
Volcanoes
8/10 Cover them with a heavy material.
Ice Age 8/10 Wear warmer clothes and melt frozen water.
Disease 9/10 (Mutating disease 10/10)
Use antibiotics, if it mutates, it is awfully hard to stop.
