Dear West Bay Parents, West Bay is an amazing school and we, as parents, are proud to be an important part of this school community. Through countless hours of volunteering, donations and at home support, we are working together to create a safe, enjoyable and enriching school experience for our children in which to grow and excel. Every two years, the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) organizes and hosts a Gala evening for parents to raise funds that support numerous aspects of our school community. This is not only a wonderful opportunity to come out and connect with other West Bay parents, but a crucial part of the school’s efforts to provide the unique and enriching programs available to our children. This year’s event is coming up on Friday, May 8th, 2020, at the Vancouver Club located at 915 West Hastings Street in Vancouver. Enclosed with this letter, you will find a summary of our fundraising goals, including this year’s special request Wish List as well as items from our general operating expenses. Sponsorship is one important means of participating in helping us achieve our goals. Examples of sponsorship could be as follows: donating the cost of a first beverage of the evening, covering the cost of the band or venue rental, contributing to the general fund or donating to various other costs of the event. Additionally, you may wish to donate money towards a wish list item. West Bay staff and teachers put together a list of items that the school would like to purchase as listed below. These items help to enhance learning for our students and allow us to continue to provide an exceptional learning environment for our school. We are very appreciative for the support our parents provide and know that when we work together amazing things can happen. Lastly, the Gala generates funds for the PAC’s yearly operational expenses. The PAC plays a vital role in the school community which ranges from supporting field trips, supplementing PE programs, assisting with parent education and community events, as well as outreach programs and scholarships. The projected budget for the upcoming school year is also provided below. The PAC will be running a Live and Silent auction through 32auctions.com. If you or your company would like to donate items to be included in the auction, (such as vacation accommodations, sporting event or concert tickets, unique experiences, gift basket items etc.), please feel free to reach out to myself or any member of the PAC.
