Dear Sir/Madam Pollmeier has further optimised its production processes for BauBuche Beam, so that the product now meets even higher performance specifications, which are mainly reflected in a greater strength and stiffness. For your BauBuche projects, you should therefore only use the updated Declaration of Performance (PM – 008 – 2018) that contains the new performance values. These higher values have not yet been included in the BauBuche manual for structural calculation (2nd edition), which is currently being revised. Main changes regarding technical characteristics in the latest Declaration of Performance: - Increase of bending strength from 70 MPa to 75 MPa - Change of bending strength factor k h,m from 600 h 0.14 to 600 h 0.10 - Increase of mean modulus of elasticity from 16,700 MPa to 16,800 MPa - Increase of tensile strength parallel to grain in plies from 55 MPa to 60 MPa - Increase of compressive strength perpendicular to grain in plies o In service class 1: from 10.2 MPa to 14.8 MPa o In service class 2 from 8.5 MPa to 12.3 MPa - Increase of shear strength from 4.0 MPa to 4.5 MPa - Change of shear strength factor k h,v from 600 h 0.25 to 600 h 0.13 - Increase of mean density from 740 kg/m³ to 800 kg/m³ - Increase of characteristic density from 680 kg/m³ to 730 kg/m³ We also wish to inform you that we have been able to extend the range of use of the approved product. It is now possible to produce CE-certified beams made of BauBuche with widths of 50 to 300 mm and heights of 80 to 1360 mm. For all projects, the effect of changes in wood moisture content must of course be taken into account. When dispatched, BauBuche has a wood moisture content of 6 % (± 2 %) and is highly susceptible to shrinking and swelling. In order to prevent damage from changes in the moisture content, in particular damage to the finished construction, the timber elements as well as the connections must be adequately protected against the elements and moisture in general. Dear Sir/Madam Pollmeier has further optimised its production processes for BauBuche Beam, so that the product now meets even higher performance specifications, which are mainly reflected in a greater strength and stiffness. 7. Declared performance:

7.1 Product description

This Declaration of Performance applies to glued laminated timber of type "BauBuche GL75 Beam" consisting of plies of laminated veneer lumber made for structural applications. The plies conform to EN 14374.

BauBuche GL75 Beam consists of at least two plies that are glued together. The surfaces are planed or sanded.

This Declaration of Performance does not apply to openings in glued laminated timber made from laminated veneer lumber.

This Declaration of Performance does not apply to treatment with wood preservatives or flame retardants.

The wood species used is European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.).

BauBuche GL75 Beam is designed for use as load-bearing and non-load-bearing elements in buildings and other timber structures.

The product must only be exposed to static or quasi-static load.

BauBuche GL75 Beam may be used in environments classified in service classes 1 and 2 according to EN 1995-1-1.

BauBuche GL75 Beam elements must be dimensioned by a specialist engineer with experience in the use of products of this type.

For the design of buildings with the product, adequate wood protection and preservation must be taken into account.

Elements made from BauBuche GL75 Beam must be installed according to best practice.

The dimensioning of BauBuche GL75 Beam elements may be based on the specifications in EN 1995-1-1 and EN 1995-1-2, taking into account Annex 1 of the European Technical Assessment. The standards and regulations that apply at the place of use must be observed.

When using fasteners, the provisions of DIN EN 1995-1-1 in conjunction with DIN EN 1995-1-1/ NA and the European Technical Approvals of the respective fasteners must be observed. The provisions of the European Technical Assessment apply.
