Dear Parents, Carers and Grandparents,
Our whole school Gray Extravaganza will be held this Thursday 29th
November at Palmerston Senior College Gym starting at 5.30pm. This
night is a combination of our whole school performances and the giving
out of awards. The program will commence with Transition doing their
performance followed by their class awards. We will then work our way
through each of the grades.
The evening will finish at 7.30pm. No food or drinks are allowed in the
gym and therefore Gray school will not be selling any food or drinks on
the night. Please come along and support your child on the night.
This week you will receive information about school reports. These
reports will give your child a grade of A, B, C, D, E. for each subject.
Students who receive a “C” are working at the level for that grade. These
marks are not just school marks but judge your child against all other
children in that year level in Australia.
School reports will be sent home on Wednesday 12th December. Included
in the report will be an attendance certificate, a music report for those
students learning music with School of Music and a letter advising of
your child’s class for 2013.
Please ensure that you pay for your child’s end of year reward excursion
as soon as possible. Students get quite distressed when they have had
excellent behaviour, but mum or dad forget to sign the excursion form
and pay for the excursion. If your child has not shown sufficient
acceptable behaviour to attend the excursion, the class teacher will
phone you a couple of days before the excursion and any money paid
will be reimbursed.
Please also remember to contribute to our School Christmas Raffle. This
is a major fundraiser for our school and the prizes are exceptional.
Have a wonderful week.
Sue Beynon, Principal and Sharon Chin, Assistant Principal

I enrolled in university to study teaching then deferred it to have a year off to work, I ended up taking an apprenticeship as a diesel me-chanic and I am now half way through my third year. Also for the last three years, I have played for NT Thunder and have won two premierships with them.

…..OVERDUE BOOKS…..
It’s that time of year again and all library books need to be returned to their
home on the shelves for a well-earned rest over the holiday break.
Sadly, there are still lots of books that are outstanding, especially home
readers.
Letters will be mailed to parents for the students who haven’t been able to
return them.
Please help find these books so they too can enjoy the 6 week rest before
the action starts again in 2013.
Thank you

in the green demountable towards the back of the school. We
offer a variety of programs, resources, information and sup-
port for families in the Palmerston community.
Gray Play 2 Learn
Play 2 learn is a supported play session where play based
learning is designed around what the children are interested
in, to help their development. The sessions are facilitated by
an Early Childhood worker and Family support worker.
At Play 2 Learn we believe that by providing children with a
secure and happy environment, where they are supported to
develop their intellectual, social, emotional and physical skills,
they will become confident and competent individuals.
Children and parents can participate in experiences together,
strengthening relationships between children, parents and
caregivers.
Good beginnings will support you to build on your existing
knowledge, skills and the resources that are available to you.
Create connections and relationships in the community, both
