Dear Members,
Worldwide, MsMes have been accepted as the engine of economic growth and for promoting equitable development. in india they play a pivotal role in the overall industrial economy of the country. Key factors contributing to the growth of MsMes are cluster development, adaption of organizational culture and better understanding of fi nancial aspects of the business.
MsMes sector is consisting of 36 million units, as of today, which provides employment to over 80 million persons. The sector produces more than 6,000 products and contributes about 8% to GDP, besides 45% to the total manufacturing output and 40% to the exports from the country
Despite of the importance of the MsMes in indian economic growth, the sector is facing challenges and does not get the required support from the concerned Government Departments, Banks, financial institutions and corporates, which is proving to be a hurdle in the growth path of the MsMes. The list of the problems faced by existing/new companies in sMe sector are ; Absence of adequate and timely banking fi nance, Limited capital and knowledge, Non-availability of suitable latest technology, Low production capacity, Ineffective marketing strategy, Constraints on modernisation & expansion, Non availability of skilled labour at affordable cost, follow up with various government agencies to resolve manpower problems, Govt approvals, etc.
There is a lot of scope to tap the market for MSME products particularly in Latin American and African countries. This month magazine carries a few articles on the challenges and opportunities for MsMes in india.
I would like to inform you that on our request, M/s. Energy Effi ciency Services Ltd., (EESL), New Delhi, a Joint Venture of PSUs of the Ministry of Power, New Delhi has decided to conduct its nation level Stake-holders meet at our Association on the 6th of april 2016. The meeting is being conducted to discuss about the distribution of around 30 lakh agricultural Pumpsets and smart control panels across india. This is a recognition to sieMa.
eePc along with the Ministry of commerce has also planned a meeting on 9th of this month, for discussing on the development of a smart pump for export.
We are planning to conduct a series of lectures/training sessions / seminars in this fi nancial year. I request all our members to participate in the meetings in good numbers and get benefi tted.
I take this opportunity to wish the members “a happy and bright fi nancial year 2016-17.”

Industrial ScenarioWorldwide particularly most of the developed countries suffered a very big setback during the past one decade due to industrial recession and poor economy. Most of the European countries lost their buying power and their potential reduced to a greater extent.
The entire European communities were struggling for their existence.
Strength of IndiaEven though, most of the countries in the world suffered the recession. In India, we had not experienced the recession and our economy was stable which made India as a target to all Europeans companies to establish their market to ensure their survival.
It would not be an exgragation to mention that all the developed countries, brand leaders are growing only because of our country and the support given by our market and consumers.
The difference between Indian and European Industry:
In Europe, almost all the companies are corporates where the management believes in professionalism and system driven management. From the employee side they work for their own benefit and if any employee estimates his growth to be lesser than his expectation he will leave the organization immediately. Generally in corporates the individual survival will be the prime motive of every employee and the common goal becomes secondary importance.
In India, most of the companies are entrepreneurial nature started by a self motivated individual and as the organization grows the individual identity will be lost and the individual will identify themselves with his organization.
For example: Our respectable senior industrialists like Shri.K.K.Ramasamy and Shri.GowriShankar
were named Sharp Ramasamy and best Gowrishankar. They also enjoyed the pride in identifying themselves with their own creation of the industry.
Unlike corporates in the MSMEs started by entrepreneurs the self importance will be vanished and the importance to the organization will be the primary motive of the entrepreneur and the entrepreneur will not leave the organization till his last drop of blood.
Our banks they lose money in huge volume only by the corporate and even though the banks squeeze the entrepreneur and MSMEs the failure percentage and the amount of loss to the banks are very negligible as compared to the corporate.
Pride of MSMEsThe above reasons had made India to be stable country in spite of worldwide recession and now all the developed country industrial organizations come to us for their survival.
Concern factors of MSMEsThe MSMEs are in tremendous competition by MNC’s and their options are to either work for multinational companies or we should fight against the multinational companies. In either situation we should improve ourselves equal to the multinational particularly in professionalism and system driven management.
Weakness of MSMEsMost of the MSMEs started by entrepreneur will have expertise either mostly in technical and in

rare occasions in marketing. In other areas MSMEs will have the weakness and they struggle due to the same.MSMEs other important limitations will be finance and mostly no entrepreneur will not be rich enough to have own funds and the bankers will also have a very stringent rules for MSMEs and they charge higher interest rates since the entrepreneurs negotiation power is very limited.
Areas to be focused: Y MSMEs should have correct consultancy in all
fields including technical, marketing, HR and finance to ensure professionalism.
Y Reducing the overheads and limited usage of resources are essential.
Y The exposure of the management to be enhanced periodically to adapt the organization to the changing industrial situation.
Y MSMEs should associate with multinational companies not for the profit but to learn the systems and technology.
In India, MSMEs have got very bright future provided if we could deepen our roots and widen our vision.

About MsMes in India
Cover Story
Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector has emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic
sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades. SMEs not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural areas. SMEs are complementary to large industries as ancillary units and this sector contributes enormously to the socio-economic development of the country. The Sector consisting of 36 million units, as of today, provides employment to over 80 million persons. The Sector through more than 6,000 products contributes about 8% to GDP besides 45% to the total manufacturing output and 40% to the exports from the country. The SME sector has the potential to spread industrial growth across the country and can be a major partner in the process of inclusive growth.
SMEs also play a significant role in Nation development through high contribution to Domestic Production, Significant Export Earnings, Low Investment Requirements, Operational Flexibility, Location Wise Mobility, Low Intensive Imports, Capacities to Develop Appropriate Indigenous Technology, Import Substitution, Contribution towards Defence Production, Technology – Oriented Industries, Competitiveness in Domestic and Export Markets thereby generating new entrepreneurs by providing knowledge and training.
Despite their high enthusiasm and inherent capabilities to grow, SMEs in India are also facing a number of problems like sub-optimal scale of operation, technological obsolescence, supply chain inefficiencies, increasing domestic & global competition, working capital shortages, not getting trade receivables from large and multinational companies on time, insufficient skilled manpower, change in manufacturing strategies and turbulent and uncertain market scenario. To survive with such issues and compete with large and global enterprises, SMEs need to adopt innovative approaches in their
operations. SMEs that are innovative, inventive, international in their business outlook, have a strong technological base, competitive spirit and a willingness to restructure themselves can withstand the present challenges and come out successfully to contribute 22% to GDP. Indian SMEs are always ready to accept and acquire new technologies, new business ideas and automation in industrial and allied sectors.

some Challenges of sMes includeDearth of Financing Options
to lack of Infrastructure
Cover Story
The contribution of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to country’s economy is significant.
According to SMB Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, India has more than 48 million SMEs, which contribute 45 pc of industrial output.
The growth is remarkable, but there are several hurdles SMEs need to clear on the road to success.
According to a joint survey by FirstBiz and Greyhound Knowledge Group in 2014, there are six challenges faced by SMEs. Dearth of easy finance and credit instruments; Limiting regulatory polices; Unavailability of modern, affordable technology; Lack of basic infrastructure facilities; Absence of exclusive marketing platforms and distribution networks; Inflexible labour laws and availability of affordable skilled labour.
Funding optionsThough the government has specified schemes to fund businesses, what is lacking is the awareness. Most of the times, businesses are set up with minimum capital, but when something doesn’t work fine, businessmen will be under pressure to go for extended financing.
Regulatory frameworkThe government is making all out efforts to check multiple processes of setting business. Strict regulations threaten the business landscape.
Implementing the ‘Make in India’ campaign in letter and spirit, India has taken the inititaitve of improving 'Ease of Doing Business' by heavily cutting down documentation process. It has reduced the mandatory documents required for import and export of goods to three documents each
Based on the recommendations of the report, the RBI has agreed to do away with the 'Foreign Exchange Control Form (SDF)' by incorporating the declaration in the 'Shipping Bill' (for exports) and dispensing with the 'Foreign Exchange Control Form (Form A-1)' (for imports).
Technology adoptionDespite the increasing adoption of newer technologies by large enterprises, the small enterprises are not very confident about the prospects of technology. They lack the trust. They often ask: What if technology fails and our business flops”. Technology providers need to build confidence with fool-proof methodologies and techniques to minimise fail-impact on overall business, or have a back-up plan.
InfrastructureOne of the major constraints for SMEs is lack of infrastructure facilities and the absence of marketing platforms, says the FirstBiz report.

Challenges to MsMe
Cover Story
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role for the growth of Indian economy by
contributing 45% of industrial output, 40% of exports, employing 60 million people, create 1.3 million jobs every year and produce more than 8000 quality products for the Indian and international markets. SME’s Contribution towards GDP in 2011 was 17% which is expected to increase to 22% by 2012. There are approximately 30 million MSME Units in India and 12 million persons are expected to join the workforce in the next 3 years.
Despite of the importance of the MSMEs in Indian economic growth, the sector is facing challenges and does not get the required support from the concerned Government Departments, Banks, Financial Institutions and Corporates which is proving to be a hurdle in the growth path of the MSMEs. The list of the problems that are faced by existing/new companies in SME sector are as under: 1. Absence of adequate and timely banking finance2. Limited capital and knowledge3. Non-availability of suitable technology4. Low production capacity5. Ineffective marketing strategy6. Constraints on modernisation & expansions7. Non availability of skilled labour at affordable
cost8. Follow up with various government agencies to
resolve problems due to lack of man power and knowledge etc.
It is very important to empower the SME sector to utilize the limited resources (human & economic) they have in an optimum manner. The SMEs need to be educated and informed of the latest developments taking place globally and helped to acquire skills necessary to keep pace with the global developments. SMEs are now exposed to greater opportunities than ever for expansion and diversification across the sectors. Indian market is growing rapidly and Indian entrepreneurs are making remarkable progress in various Industries like Manufacturing, Precision Engineering Design, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, Textile & Garments, Retail, IT and ITES, Agro and Service sector.
To counter the challenges faced by SME sector and grab the opportunities in the market, the Chamber has developed key strategies to promote and support the SME sector. The Chamber encourages SMEs to adopt innovative ideas and concepts for the promotion of their business. The goal of the Chamber is to organise Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Training Programs and other trade promotional activities to educate & create awareness amongst the SMEs. CIMSME has decided to start various activities to empower and educate the SME Sector by organising various trade promotional activities.

WORRIES END Where FAITH BEGINS.A very poor woman with a small family called-in to a radio station asking for help from God.
A non-believer man who was also listening to this radio program decided to make fun of the woman.
He got her address, called his secretary and ordered her to buy a large amount of foodstuffs and take to the woman.
However, he sent it with the following instruction: "When the woman asks who sent the food, tell her that its from the devil.''
When the secretary arrived at the woman's house, the woman was so happy and grateful for the help that had been received. She started putting the food inside her small house.
The Secretary then asked her, ''Don't you want to know who sent the food?''
The woman replied, ''No", Say thanks to whomever sent ths! I don't care who the person is because when GOD orders, even the devil obeys!

11 Formulas for Growing Old with Grace1. Live in your own place to enjoy independence and privacy.2. Hold on to your bank deposits and assets with yourself.3. Don't depend only on your children's promise to care for you when you grow old as their priorities change
with time.4. Expand your circle of friends to include those who will outlive you. 5. Do not compare and expect nothing from others.6. Do not meddle in the life of your children. Let them live THEIR life not yours.7. Do not use old age as your shield and justification to demand care, respect and attention.8. Listen to what others say but think and act independently.9. Pray, but do not beg, even from God. If at all, ask for his forgiveness. Last two and important ones....10. TAKE GOOD CARE OF OWN HEALTH. Apart from medical attention, eat best food in the best way and
try to do your own work ... And finally,11. Do not retire fromlife Remember, You are not ALIVE, unless and until you start LIVING!

Indians tend to ignore or misread the early symptoms of cancer, which delays diagnosis and treatment until
the problem has become less amenable to medication, said a group of oncologist surgeons.
Early indications of prostate cancer in men, for instance, such as reduction in urinal frequency, reduced stream of urination and urinary retention, are mostly ignored, they said in a statement here.
"Each kind of cancer has its symptoms which, if ignored, can lead to worsening of the cancer to a stage where medication usually does not work," the doctors said.
Blood in stools, black coloured sticky stools and blood in vomit indicate the development of colon or intestinal cancer, the doctors said.
"Similarly, scrotal swelling are one of the symptoms of testicular cancer, which is curable only in the initial stage," said Meghal Sanghavi, Consultant Oncology Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai.
"Growth of ulcer in oral cavity, neck nodes or swelling, breathlessness indicate oral cancer. In all advanced stages the symptoms may be associated with weight loss and loss of appetite."
Early symptoms tend to be mistaken for minor infections but if the patients get the biopsy done then the diagnosis can be easily done, Sanghavi said. Cancer is becoming an epidemic all over the world. All types of cancer are on an increase, with oral and prostrate cancer becoming more prominent in Indian men. Sanghavi said that gall bladder cancer is most common in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Mizoram and Pondicherry has the highest incidence of oral and neck malignancy. Stomach cancer is more common in men in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, while lung cancer is high in the men in Delhi and Maharashtra.
Agreed A.K. Dhar, the chairman of medical oncology at Nayati Healthcare in Gurgaon, who said Indian males mostly ignore the earlier symptoms and relate symptoms to environmental factors like cold or heat or some food factors. "Cancer is the last to strike them."
"Self medication is what aggravates the problem. Men in India go for some ointments which are applied locally on non healing ulcers for various types of cancerous wounds. For testicular swellings they usually apply langots (scrotal support)," Dhar said.
Indians die of cancer due to ignorance of early symptoms

After his father's death, the Son decided to leave his mother at old age home and visited her on and off.
Once he received a call from old age home....Mom very serious ..... please come to visit.
Son went and saw mom very critical, on her dying bed.
He asked: Mom what can I do for you.
Mom replied... "Please install fans in the old age home, there are none.... Also put a fridge for betterment of food because many times I slept without food".
Son was surprised and asked: mom, while you were here you never complained, now you have few hours left and you are telling me all this, why?
Mom replied....."it's OK dear, I've managed with the heat, hunger pain, but when your children will send you here, I am afraid you will not be able to manage
