From Lisa LIBRARY NEWS Thank you to the school community for contributing to the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Jackie has been busy cataloguing and processing all the new books that were selected by the senior school students with the funds from the fair. They chose some more titles from popular children’s series such as Weirdo by Anh Do, Dog Man by Dav Pilkey, Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Liz Pichon, as well as some fun picture books (Pig the Blob and Grumpy Monkey) and a few nonfiction titles on Soccer and Rocks, Minerals and Gems which they thought that the students at Knox Central would enjoy. These books will be displayed in the library and will be available for borrowing shortly. Thank you once again and I hope the students enjoy these new additions to the library.

Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund applications

Application Deadline extended to Friday 13th August, 2021

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and

sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health

Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also

a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Means-tested concession cards must now be valid on either:

• the first day of Term 1 (Wednesday 27 January 2021)

• the first day of Term 2 (Monday 19 April 2021)

• the first day of Term 3 (Monday 12 July 2021).

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the

school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your

child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this

year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you would like to apply for the first time, please email our business manager, Jan Moussa at

[email protected] and ask for an application form.

All new applications must be received via email by Friday 13th August, 2021 and include a copy of

your concession card. Late applications cannot be accepted
