Dear Friends and Colleagues, Once again, it is time to search your repertoire, screw up your courage, and sign up for Alaria’s annual Spielathon! This is your chance to perform with professional musicians in an informal setting. You enlist friends and family to purchase a certain amount of minutes, you rehearse with Alaria’s renowned musicians, and then invite your friends and family to the performance. Enjoy light dinner fare and cocktails afterward. This is how it works: Once you confirm with Yuri Vodovoz your chosen chamber composition (usually a short piece or just a movement or two of a longer piece), you time the piece, count the minutes, and ask your sponsors to write a tax-deductible check to Alaria. Or sponsor yourself. Then, start practicing! Date: January 20, 2013, 6:00 PM. ALARIA SPIELATHON Thank you for your interest in participating in Alaria’s Spielathon. Alaria is one of New York City’s esteemed classical music institutions. Since 1983, Alaria has developed programs that build a community of chamber music players, composers, and teachers. Your contribution will support Alaria’s concert series, teaching programs, and commissions of new music. Suggested cost: $40 per performance minute. Procedure: Choose your preferred chamber composition and discuss with Yuri Vodovoz ([email protected]; 212.727.0566). Time your piece. Then ask your friends and family to write a tax-deductible check to “Alaria” and send to Alaria Chamber Ensemble, Inc., Park West Finance Station, P. O. Box 20389, New York, NY 10025. The more minutes purchased, the longer you get to play! Please have the sponsors send the form below with their check. (You can, of course, sponsor yourself and send in your own check.) Performance: The Spielathon will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at 6:00 P.M. at the home of Alina Rubinstein, 590 West End Avenue (corner of 89th Street), Apt. 11C.
