Dear Friends,It is with our enjoyment to invite you to our annual “Meat and Muscle” bull sale at our sale location at Tim’s place (Weber Satellite

Ranch). We will be serving an appreciation meal for those attending starting at 11:30 followed by our sale starting at 1:00 p.m. We will host an appreciation supper meal a short time after the conclusion of our sale. Our sale will begin with the Charolais bulls, Charolais heifers, Red Angus heifers, Red Angus bulls and the commercial Red Angus bred heifers and pairs will end the sale.

Our total herd health is run through Northwest Veterinary Clinic in Wagner and Parkston by Chris Freidel, D.V.M. and Sweetgrass Veterinary Services in Dimock by Erik Holum, D.V.M. We feel that it is our duty to provide the best possible health program that a program can apply. All semen testing, ultrasounding, scrotal measurements, herd fertility, and soundness is monitored also through Northwest Vet and Sweetgrass Veterinary Services.

The health of our calves born begins before the calf is conceived. We believe it begins with the mother’s mineral program, proper daily protein consumption, high quality feed stuffs, and minimizing feed stuffs with high content of molds and yeast. All minerals and protein concentrates used contain a yeast/mannan-oligosaccharide(y/mos) at a 15 gram level daily consumption for toxin binding.

Our bull rations are consulted through J & R Feeds. The ration is designed to provide a diet that will allow the bulls to grow for adequate average daily gain, structural soundness, fertility, longevity, and industry changing performance. Any questions pertaining to the ration, feel free to ask Jason or any of the J & R feed consultants on sale day.

This is a family operation and we appreciate the gathering of new and old friends, new and old customers, and new and old family members. We can’t give enough thanks to everyone who helps make this event happen, it is greatly appreciated.

Our cattle industry is constantly changing, and with those changes we are advancing our genetics to a level we never would have imagined. Who would have thought that cattle could be finished at 12-14 months of age with the same efficiency, yield, and grade.

We feel this is an excellent set of bulls for the industry. Our markets are seemingly favorable for some opportunity. We are fortunate to raise 2 breeds that favor each other very well. In a feedlot situation, the average daily gain and conversion you get from the charolais/Red Angus buckskin colored calves will add extra dollars to your pocket.

Viewing: The cattle are being fed at Dean Weber’s ranch until the morning of the sale and they will be transported to Tim’s ranch the morning of the sale. All heifer lots are being fed at Jason’s place. Lots 1-4, 36-41 are being fed at Todd’s place.

Cattle Videos:All bulls will be videoed previous to the sale and viewing of them can be seen at www.dvauction.com. DVAuction will have TV screens set up in the sale ring area for you to view the prerecorded video of each bull. All ringmen are ready to take your bid, so get their attention in a courteous fashion.

Transfer of registration papersAll cattle sold will have papers transferred upon request, so please let the ladies know when you settle up after your purchase.

Semen Interest: Weber Charolais and Red Angus is retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all bulls for sale today for a possibility to collect a bull for our own use at buyers convenience in the off season of breeding. The 1/3 semen interest also includes sharing of semen revenue and the buyer retains full possession.

Health Program:All bulls have been semen tested and scrotal measured with Dr. Erik Holum of Sweetgrass Vet of Dimock, SD and ultrasound scan per-formed by Jeff Schoenfelder, Certified Technician CUPS, also Sweet-grass Vet. We follow an extensive shot program with our cattle to maximize optimum health and Dr. Eric Holum will be explaining that on sale day.

Feeding Program: All rations are set up by feed samples that are taken and set up ac-cordingly to develop a ration that will make a sound individual. All of this is consulted with J&R Feeds in which Curt Slykhuis or Jason Weber can be contacted to visit about the feeding program.

2114 is at again. 910 is an embryo mat-ing with a proven calving ease bull. This is a heifer bull sire deluxe. When you have 2114 in the pedigree, you are going to get consistent cow making progeny, yet bull power on the male side. I have said it before, but 2114 makes a good bull better, she is what our Red Angus industry needs. Her EPD’s are average, but everything she had naturally, never got a chance to be averaged with anything else. They all had a halter put on them or she was at Trans Ova having embryos harvested.

RED ANGUS YEARLING HEIFERSThe Red Angus heifers are also offered by Jason and he kept a few back for himself, but everything else is for sale. All the same stuff to say about them as the Charolais heifers. All heifers were palpated and pelvic measured by Sweetgrass Vet for breeding soundness. 9904 is a moderate framed SimAngus heifer that really puts all things together. Another 2114 daughter through a flush to a red Simmental bull that I admired and got a chance to use him. His calves were consistent and just had that popping look that catches your eye. This heifer had a full sib we showed at the State Fair last summer in the SimAngus division. She stood 3rd out of a very tough class of 14.
