De Baak U.S.As a leadership development institute, de Baak’s mission is to work together with the leaders of Dutch businesses in becoming more effective. The U.S. and the Netherlands are major trading partners. In order to make this exchange more effective, de Baak has been creating networks, building relationships and establishing affiliations between the U.S. and the Netherlands. In addition, we are connecting and supporting companies in both countries with their leadership development needs. Learning from each other, understanding each other and creating a common language.

De Baak has been active in leadership and entrepreneur-ship development - the human side of enterprise - for more than 60 years, for national and international companies. We are an institute which focuses on the individual, the individual’s effective interaction within organizations – and within society. This method of learning appeals to the intellect and the imagination, the pragmatic and creative sides of human nature. We have programs that are designed for individual participation, or tailor-made program made for companies, with learning locations in Noordwijk, Driebergen, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands; Antwerp in Belgium; Frankfurt in Germany; Shanghai in China; and the West Coast and New England regions in the United States.

The Dutch Specialist in the U.S.; the American Specialist in the NetherlandsDe Baak has developed programs for Dutch enterprises that wish to strengthen their connection with the U.S. and develop their understanding of this country and its people. The programs de Baak offers are divided into three different categories:

(1) Linking U.S. and Dutch businesses,

(2) Creating value for Dutch companies in the U.S. and

(3) Networking with U.S. companies located in

the Netherlands.

In addition, de Baak uses its unique position in the Netherlands to make the European market more easily accessible and understandable for American entrepreneurs who are looking for ways to connect to Europe.

International ActivitiesDe Baak has used international environments as learning opportunities for its program participants. In addition to its activities in the U.S., de Baak has partners through-out Europe, China and India. De Baak will continue to be an initiator in organizing international Learning Events in which we push to deepen understanding of ‘other’ cultures, society and business practices.

Who do we work with?In addition to Dutch companies located in the U.S., de Baak is also working with the Netherlands ForeignInvestment Agency and their Business Support Offices. De Baak has a representative in New York City, and is also developing contacts in the Silicon Valley, California. In addition, we work closely with U.S. contacts within the Netherlands, such as the John Adams Institute (an institute dedicated to introducing American culture to the Netherlands), the American Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Embassy and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Our OfferDe Baak will continue to organize Learning Journeys to the U.S. with themes such as Sustainable Leadership, Leading in the International Workplace, and Change Management. There will be events and top speakers brought in from the U.S. to the Netherlands to discuss topics of Global Leadership in society and within orga-nizations. In addition, we will be running some of our inter-national modules in the U.S. Within the Netherlands we also offer courses to support the local expat community.
