The Citizens’ Pass is the value-adding guest card of the Free Republic of Holidays of Saas-Fee. Thanks to the Citizens’ Pass, all guests of our partner companies get to enjoy numerous attractions. The Citizens’ Pass is like a little cash cow. Except that it’s easier to care for than a cow and its credit card format is very handy. It enables, for example, unrestricted use of the post buses throughout the Saas Valley. Ski buses and local buses included. The Citizens’ Pass is valid right from the first night and on your arrival or departure day. The number of extra incentives and discounts it allows would be difficult to count up. In Terminals A and B of the Saas-Fee multi-storey car park, you can make a call to your accommodation free of charge from the telephone points. Guests arriving by public transport can call their hotels free of charge from the Saas-Fee tourist office.

Note: The hotels and some holiday apartments in Saas-Fee offer a free pick-up service. For further information, contact your landlord or check your rental agreement or brochure.

PostBusThe PostBus offer safe and ef-ficient travel. Avoid the tiresome search for parking spaces and discover the Free Republic of Holidays Saas-Fee on the Post-Bus – stress-free, comfortable, and free of charge with the Ci-

tizens’ pass! Timetables for pu-blic bus lines are available at all tourist offices and post offices.

Ski busGive your car a “brake” and hop on the ski bus to reach the Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen ski resorts. Travel on ski buses is free of charge with your Citi-zens’ pass.

REFUSE COLLECTIONIn Saas-Fee and Saas-Almagell, rubbish bags should be depo-sited in the bin compound. In Saas-Balen and Saas-Grund, rubbish is collected from the roadside every Tuesday and Friday morning. Please only use the designated bin bags that are subject to a disposal

charge. These bags can be purchased individually or in packs from supermarkets. Cardboard should be tied together and ta-ken to the bin compound. Paper, glass, aluminium and PET should be disposed of separately at the following locations:

Saas-FeeVarious sports shops and ho-tels have ski depots close to the cableway stations. Locka-ble ski stands and public ski lockers are available for hire at the valley station of the Alpin Express.

SHOPPINGDuring the winter season, most shops are open Monday to Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 2 to 6:30 p.m.

Many shops are also open for a few hours on Sundays. Bake-ries are open from 7 a.m.

There are direct trains to Visp from Basel, Berne, Geneva and Zurich. From Visp, it is a half-hour journey on the Post-Bus to the Free Republic of Holidays Saas-Fee.

At weekends, we recommend that you reserve a place for the return journey to Visp.

Britannia mountain hut, Saas-Fee (3`030 m a.s.l.)Built in 1912 by British mem-bers of the Alpenclub (hen-ce the name) the Britannia mountain hut is one of the most visited SAC mountain huts in all of the Alps and is the starting point for the fa-mous Haute Route and other high-Alpine trails.It is situated about a 90-minute walk from the Felskinn mountain station.

Note: The Britannia mountain hut is open from March. Please contact the tourist offices in advance (p.8/9) to find out the exact date.

Hannig, Saas-Fee (2`336 m a.s.l.)The sunny side of Saas-Fee! Take a break in the Hühner-stall restaurant and enjoy the sunshine. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of some local wildlife hanging out on the cliffs. You then head back down on foot or on sled-ges.

Längfluh, Saas-Fee (2`870 m a.s.l.)Experience the glacier right up close on the Längfluh. Marvel at the sheer glacier faces, the majestic peaks of the highest mountains in Switzerland, and the summits of the Mischabel massif.

Mittelallalin, Saas-Fee (3`500 m a.s.l.)The world’s highest revolving restaurant, largest ice grot-to and highest underground train all in one place! No stay in Saas-Fee is complete wi-thout a trip to the Mittelalla-lin. Opening hours coincide with the Metro Alpin timetable (p.25).

Plattjen, Saas-Fee (2`570 m a.s.l.)The modern six-person gon-dola lift takes you to the Plattjen area and the nearby viewpoint, which offers spec-tacular views of the Mattmark reservoir and the Mischabel massif.

Furggstalden, Saas-Almagell (1`893 m a.s.l.)Take a hike through an old hamlet and the enchan-ting winter landscape above Saas-Almagell, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When you reach the end, you can sledge back down to Saas-Almagell.

Heidbodme, Saas-Almagell (2`400 m a.s.l.)Experience spectacular moun-tain scenery with superb pano-ramic views over the Mischabel and Monte Rosa massifs.

Felskinn, Saas-Fee (3`000 m. ü. M.)The Felskinnbahn - immorta-lised in the video to the inter-national hit, «Last Christmas», by Wham! - escorts you direc-tly from Saas-Fee to Felskinn (3`000m above sea level), whe-re perfectly groomed pistes lead to the Morenia ski resort. Felskinn is also the starting point for a number of impres-sive hiking routes, such as via the Fee and Chessjen glaciers to the Britannia Hut.
