Medium to fine-coarse grained, massive, dark grey withgreenish tinge. Holocrystalline mixture of felspar andmafic s, generally about 50-50. Probably pyroxene andsome amphibole. Fairly fresh and hard, but some altera tion of minerals and especially along small cracks andfractures where there is local development of chlorite.A little local silicification. Somewhat mottled appear ance is general and the grain size and proportion offelsic material varies somewhat, the felspar sometimesbeing concentrated in bands. GREENSTONE
This hole passes through greenstone type rock for its flntlr ft lengThere are no contacts but there appear to be several gradational
changes from a coarse grained type to a less common finer grained
type with a lower content of feldspar. Epidote occurs and pyrite
is found in small quantities throughout, especially on small fracl
planes which it coats. Rarely quartz veins ara found.Coarse medium to coarse grained type: feldspar generally prominent
giving mottled appearance to rock - sometimes lath shaped -mafics appear to be mainly amphibole - Hardj MBBtoe* dark grey
colour. Gabbroic?
Finer grained type: a darker grey without tho mott") nrl appfi^rfiitne
and the felspars seem to be more altered - much amphibole - 30'
