EMERSON(B) EmersonFisherValves–RegionalHeadOfficeLocation:Dubai–UAE

The Emerson Fisher building is a 14,000m2 facility consisting of a 4,500m2 ground plustwo,administrationofficeanda9,500m2groundplusmezzanineworkshop facility.Theworkshop contains eleven overhead cranes, three jib cranes and a compressed airdistributionnetwork. Thereare alsopaintbooths; shotblast zones andapressure testfacility.This project is the expansion for Emerson's regional head office building, which wasdesigned and projectmanaged by DCM in 2010. Together the three projects designedandprojectmanagedbyDCMforEmersonequateto15,000m2ofgrade“A”highqualityoffice,13,000m2oflogisticsfacilityand15,000m2ofworkshops.ThiscampusinJAFZAisconsideredoneofthebestfacilitieswithinEmerson’worldwideportfolio.

EmersonClimaticTechnologies–RegionalHeadOffice

Location:Dubai–UAEEmersonClimateTechnologiesbuildingisa14,500m2logisticsfacilitylocatedwithintheJAFZASouthzone.Thebuildingconsistsofaground&mezzanineofficefacilityof 3,000m2 and a distribution facility of 11,500m2. This facility is designed toaccommodate Emerson’s Climate Technologies regional logistics requirements forthecomingtenyears.ThisprojectisthethirdundertakenbyDCMforEmerson.Onallthreeprojects,DCMhasdesignedandprojectmanagedtheentirefacility.

DCMRole: -DCMprovidedacomplete turnkeyservice forEmerson. This included the design and full projectmanagement and site supervision for their 8,000m2 fullyfitted out office facility. This building is now the regionalheadoffice for Emerson,where theymanageMiddle East,AfricanandFarEastoperations.

Weatherford

Training&TechnologyCentreLocation:Abu-Dhabi-UAE

Weatherfordisoneoftheworlds’largestoil-fieldservicescompaniesandislistedontheNYSE. They operate inmore than 100 countriesand employmore than 50,000 peopleworldwide. DCM coordinatedwithWeatherford’s global trainingmanagement team toestablish the design for this very high specification training & technology center. Theproject encompasses a130-seat auditorium,which features the largestbackprojectionsysteminstalledwithintheMiddleEast.Theprojectalsoincludesareal-timeoperationscenter,rigsimulator,videoconference,electronicslaboratory,numerouslecturetheatersand training facilities. Thebuilding is equippedwitha fully functional restaurant and issetuptofacilitateWeatherford’sregionaldatacenter.

DCM ROLE: provided full design and project management services for both the basebuildingandfittingoutpackagesincludingtheprocurementofallAudioVisualandFF&Eitems.

Location:-Dubai-UAE Operatinginmorethan170marketswithover20,000employeesTetraPakistrulyaworldleaderinfoodprocessingandpackaging.

DCM ROLE: DCM structured a development deal toundertake the Tetra Pak regional head office, wherebyTetra Pakwould only sign a long lease for their buildingand pay an annual rent calculated on the actualdevelopmentcostoftheproject.DCMalsodesignedandprojectmanagedthebasebuildingandfittingoutpackagefor the project. Upon project completionwe establishedand agreedwithbothparties the final rental costs to bepaidbyTetraPak.ThesenegotiationsresultedinTetraPakobtaining a building, which facilitated their entire futureoffice requirement at less than½ the annual rental costtheywerepreviouslypaying.

Location:Dubai–UAEDubaiInternetCity(DIC)isaninformationtechnologyparkcreatedbytheGovernmentofDubaiasafreeeconomiczoneandastrategicbaseforcompaniestargetingregionalemergingmarkets.

DCMROLE:DCM’sCEO,MrAndrewFullerton,projectmanagedthisdevelopmentpersonally.Theprojectconsistedof40,000m²ofspeculativeofficespacesplitover4buildings,the complete infrastructure for an advanced data centre, which currentlyfacilitates the entire DIC. The project also contains significant externalinfrastructureincludingbothasaltwaterandsweetwaterlake,withelaboratehard and soft landscaping, incorporating numerous water features within alandareaofmorethan300,000m².

TheAbuDhabimanufacturingfacilityisthelargestplantownedandoperatedbyWeatherford.The project, in summary, consists of a 38,000m2 air-conditioned manufacturing facility andincludes pressure test zones, shot blast, paint booths, carbide shops, pipe reclamations andpipestorage.Thefacilityisservedby22overheadcranesand25jibcranes.Abussbarpowersystemandcompressedairlinesrunthroughouttheplantandprovidesversatilepowerandairconnectiontoallareasoftheplant.DCMROLE:DCMdesignedandprojectmanagedeveryaspectofthisprojectforWeatherford.We are pleased to report that the plant after its first year of operation is now surpassingWeatherford’s internal production forecasts and is the top producing plant within theirworldwideportfolio.

Location:Basra-Iraq

TheNorthRamallahbase,known,as“WeatherfordCity”islocatedinBasra,intheSouthof Iraq. This base is one of the largest operations undertaken by Weatherford. Thefacility can accommodate 1,250 personnel within 2/3* grade accommodation andprovide full onsite catering, laundry, medical centre, power generation, desalination,greywater treatmentanddiesel storage. Inaddition to theaccommodationaspectofthe base there will also be three operational workshops totalling 27,000m2. Theseinclude; machine shop, pipe reclamation, pressure test zone, shot blast and paintboothstofacilitateallWeatherford’sproduct-lines.DCMRole: fromouroffices inDubai& Iraq,DCM designed and project managed everyaspectofthisprojectforWeatherford.

The pipe reclamation operation is locatedwithin Weatherford’s facility in Abu DhabiandsouthernIraq.Thesefacilitiesincludeanautomated pipe reclamation facilitycompletewith EMI testing and internal andexternalpipecoatingstation.

Simulator&RealtimeOperationCentre Location:AbuDhabi-UAE

The simulator facility is located within Weatherford’s Training & TechnologyCentre;itisdesignedtoprovidereal-timesimulationofthedrillingprocessandisavitalpartofWeatherford’son-goingprogressanddevelopmentofboththeirin-house and client’s staff. Real-time operations are a key value added serviceofferedbyWeatherford.ItallowsseniorWeatherfordstafftheabilitytomonitorandoptimizethedrillingoperation forallrigs from a centralized control centrelocated in Abu Dhabi. IntegratedNationalLogistics(INL) Location:Dubai-UAE INL is a joint venture between Integrated Logistics, a publicly traded company from Malaysia, and National Trading &DevelopmentEstablishment(NTDE)fromtheUAE.TheJointventurewasestablishedtoprovidethirdpartylogisticsservicesthroughout theMiddleEast.Their flagship facility isa70,000m2stateof theart logistics facility,consistingof45,000 fullyautomatedcoldstorepalletpositionsand35,000palletsofconventionalair-conditionedstorage.Theintroductionofafullyautomatedstoragesystemisa first foran independentcompanyin the region.DCMhas designed andprojectmanagedthecompletefacility.Now that the project has been successfullycompleted and the facility is operational thewaygoodsare stored inDubaiwill be totallytransformed. Location:Dubai-UAE MBC (Middle-East Broadcasting Company) is the largest TV and radio broadcaster in theMiddle East. DCM’s CEOprojectmanagednumerousdevelopmentsforMBCoverafour-yearperiod.Themanagementoftherelocationofthecompanies’headoffice fromLondon toDubaiMediaCitywas the largestprojectundertakenbyMBC.Thisprojectincluded the construction of onemain production studio several smaller studios for TV and Radio, sound booths,control rooms and high quality office facility of approximately 8,000m2 to accommodate the owner and seniormanagement.

MBCBigBrother

Location:Manama-Bahrain

DCM’s CEO project managed the “Big Brother House” project for MBC. Thisproject was developed in conjunction with Endermol the world’s largestindependentproductioncompanyandtheownerof theBigBrother franchise.The project consisted of a large film set constructed in the shape of aconventional villa, however permitting secret filming from every area of thefacility. The project also contained control rooms sound booths and a largeproductionstudio,tohouseanaudienceofover100guests.

Hotel Projects

Location: United Kingdom (various locations)

RolloutprogrammeofthreestarhotelsfortheForteGroupDCM was appointed to produce a concept design for Post House Hotels to be appliedthroughouttheUK.Weworkedwithvariouslocalarchitectsduringthedesignprocessandsupervisedonsiteinstallation.Ourbriefwastoproduceaconsistentcorporateimagethatwasattractive,practicalandcommerciallyviable. Duringthesubsequentrolloutprogramme,capitalexpenditurewasmonitoredandreducedthrougheconomyofscale.Onlyminorlocaladjustmentswereneededtothedesignofthisveryprofitableandsuccessfulconcept.

Hotel Development Location: Jeddah – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Privatelyfundedthreehundredbedroomfivestarhotelwithextensivebanquetingandweddingfunctionfacilitiesafter construction of the building shell, DCM International was appointed as sole consultants and projectmanagers.

DCMRole:Weundertookextensiverevisionsofthedesignproposals,whichproducedbenefitsincost,timeandqualityofwork.DCMInternationalhelpednegotiatethecontracts,advisedourclientonappointments,controlledandsupervisedtheworkonsite.

This projectwas successfully completedat 40% less capital expenditure then comparabledevelopments in theregion.

MANAGEMENTREVIEWDCMInternationalwasappointedbyMrSalimAlMoosatoundertakeanextensive management review of his construction company’s (Pioneer)performance on the City Bank project (pictured below). Pioneerwas themaincontractorforthis16-storyprestigiousofficedevelopmentprovidingmorethan70,000M²ofofficespaceforaconstructioncostof$45,000,000.During this assignment DCM International reported directly to Mr AlMoosa the president of the company. We advised and implementedsignificantefficiencyimprovementsandestablishedtheprincipleelementsbehindtheir largecontractualclaimforadditionalcostsandanextensionoftime.

DCMInternationalwasappointedbyatopinternational design consultancy practiceto review and upgrade their internalquality systemsandoperatingprocedures.The deliverables from this assignment was a complete revision to theirexisting quality system and several workshop-training seminars toimplement the new management and quality systems throughout theorganisation.
