In today’s challenging economy, procurement professionals are under tremendous pressure to extract short-term cost savings

from suppliers while sales teams remain focused on maintaining (or improving) the profitability of their customer relationships. Yet, common tactics for doing so are often highly counter-productive over the long term. In order to stay competitive, organizations need to be able to work together in a structured and strategic fashion to reduce costs for both customers and suppliers over near- and long-term time horizons as well as spur innovation and enable preferential access to unique markets, assets, and expertise. But how can this be achieved?

Drawing on the experience of leading experts and industry examples, this session shares strategies, tools, and skills to help you balance the pressures of containing costs and maintaining margins with the ability to foster long-term relationships that are based on transparency, trust and mutually beneficial engagements. Ashley Hatcher, Senior Consultant, Vantage Partners

Negotiating is one of the most fundamental, and important responsibilities of sourcing and

sales professionals. However, even the most experienced negotiators find themselves challenged in situations where the stakes are high and the other side seems to have all the leverage (e.g., single and sole-source supplier relationships, key customer accounts).

What does it take to transform a “no” into a “yes” and create a win-win situation? Learn from a leading expert, with industry examples, who will provide strategies and tools for these extreme negotiations and how they can be successfully managed to achieve positive results. In building their global manufacturing and supply networks, pharmaceutical companies face crucial issues, including where to locate or expand facilities and invest resources. In making these decisions, pharmaceutical companies consider many factors: access to markets

and suppliers, production economics, supporting infrastructure, business policy, and local resources, including educational and research institutes and a scientific and technical workforce.

In weighing these factors, Ireland has become an active source of pharmaceutical and life sciences investment. Several multinational pharmaceutical companies, already located in Ireland, are expanding operations with large-scale investments, and a number of newer players in the market, notably in the biologics space, are also establishing operations in the country. Learn of the major investments underway and activity in Ireland and gain insight from leading pharmaceutical companies of their manufacturing expansionsand key investments. International Best-Selling Novelistand Author of Sex and the City

Join Candace Bushnell as she takes her audience behind the scenes of her journey to becoming one of the most successful women writers of all time. With a sensational wit and a one-of-a-kind delivery, Bushnell will share anecdotes from her rise from freelance writer, to columnist, to international best-selling author, providing a look into why her stories about working women speak to those who strive to balance their careers, relationships, and the need to be fabulous!

Candace Bushnell is a critically acclaimed, international best-selling novelist. Bushnell developed her trademark style as a freelancer, writing darkly humorous pieces about women, relationships and dating for Mademoiselle, Self Magazine, and Esquire. In 1990, she wrote a column that would become a precursor for Sex and the City, called The Human Cartoon, a fictional serial published in Hamptons Magazine. She began writing for the New York Observer in 1993. In November of 1994 she created the column Sex and the City, which ran in the New York Observer for two years and was later turned into a book which was the basis for the HBO hit series and subsequent blockbuster movies. In addition to Sex and the City, Bushnell’s other best-selling novels include Four Blondes, Trading Up, Lipstick Jungle, One Fifth Avenue, and the teen series, The Carrie Diaries and Summer in the City. Bushnell released her newest book, Killing Monica, in June 2015. Currently, she is the producer of The Carrie Diaries, a TV series seen on the CW Network.
