WelcomeThe City of Boise is evaluating possible options for a downtownBoise circulator system. A circulator is a public transit service thatwould connect major destinations within downtown Boise.

In 2012, the city received a federal grant for an Alternatives Analysisof the circulator. The analysis will result in a recommended mode(vehicle) and an initial route for the circulator.

    Gather input on:

    > The downtown area thatshould be analyzed forthe initial circulator route

    > A preference for type ofvehicle that should beused for the route, rubbertire (bus) or xed rail

The purpose of todays meeting is to:

    Introduce the DowntownBoise Circulator Alternative

    What is an Alternatives Analysis?

The Alternatives Analysis will result in a recommended mode(vehicle type) and an initial route for the circulator. It will includea detailed evaluation of factors such as:

A comparison of different vehicle options (e.g., bus, rail, etc.)

Costs for operation, maintenance and capital, and potentialfunding sources.

How each alternative supports local plans and goals.

Possible routes within the study area. The study area in-cludes the Boise downtown core, the cultural district, theBoise State University campus and the Boise Depot.

Engineering considerations such as trafc ow and utilityconicts.

Social considerations such as economic development andpotential ridership numbers.

Environmental considerations such as river crossings andair quality.
