When Danny and I first came up with the idea of “Daydream” it was

within 5 minutes of meeting each other. We began discussing a few concepts

we had both thought of a long time ago. One story was about a child who

gets stuck in a daydream, and one was about a very violent situation. The first

story (which ended up changing many times) revolved around a man coming

home to find his wife with another man. He then woke up in the hallway

before class, staring at the window, finding out it was all a daydream. Our

final product was changed to a classroom, give people the feeling like he was

zoning out in class. The way these two things melded together was unreal.

We had so much fun creating this film for you, and we all hope that you

enjoy it. Thank you to the people who helped it become something we can all

be proud of.

Int. Classroom - dAY

Our story begins in a classroom on a sunny day. Massive WINDOWS on the side of the room allow sunlight to pour in, illuminating the students, and leaving the front of the room to pick up the leftover light. The professor at the front of the room is talking in a muffled tone (impossible to understand) as the rest of the class listens, bored. One of the students, who looks slightly older than the rest, is sitting quietly at his desk.

All that we can see so far in this classroom is a student's FOOT, slowly moving up his LEG as the teacher speaks, muffled from the front of the room. We start to hear a distant ringing, as if someone is making a phone call. The ringing becomes louder and louder until we feel like it’s right next to us.

Ext. Neighborhood sidewalk - dusk

Suddenly, we are in a completely different place. The same LEG we were just looking at in the classroom is now walking up the sidewalk toward the DOOR of a wonderful apartment. We hear one more loud ring before,

OperatorI’m sorry. The person you called is not available at this time. Please leave a message after the beep. *beep*

Man(exhausted)

Hey sweetheart. I guess you're busy, um, so I’ll just leave a message. I’m back in town early, and I wanted to surprise you with dinner or something. Call me back. Love you.

He is still walking up toward the door as he hangs up the PHONE and drops it to his side, putting it in his pocket.

Int. classroom - day

Back in the classroom, this time we are settled on his HAND as his FINGERS tap on the desk in a rhythm. This time the teacher at the front of the room is a little easier to understand.

...and this caused the queen to plunge further into buying more things she didn't need, all while her gambling was getting completely out of control...

The man's tapping on the DESK becomes more intense. When his FINGER taps one final, hard beat, were suddenly back in the other scene.

Ext. Sidewalk - duSK

Only seeing his hand, he turns the knob to the door and enters the house.

Int. House - dusk

His hands are the star in this scene, and we follow them because they are the beginning of every mundane task he accomplishes. He walks through the DOORWAY, throws his KEYS on the DRESSER next to the door, and heads for the REFRIGERATOR.

He opens the door revealing a picture on the fridge. It's a picture of a man and a very beautiful woman.

Int. CLASSROOM - daY

Beginning on a wide view of the side of his head, we slowly move closer and closer to his ear.

Teacher...she was given free rein to renovate the Petit Trianon, which was given to her by Louis XV...

When we are uncomfortably close to his ear, still moving in,

Int. hOUSE - dusk

Now were pulling out from his ear at the other scene. He hears something. A loud thud has come from the back of the house. Following the thud is a high pitched giggling. He turns to walk down the long hallway toward the back bedroom.

Int. CLASSROOM - day

He is looking directly forward as his mind begins to wonder.

TEACHER...the French revolution had finally caught up with Marie Antoinette…

Int. House - dusk

As he walks toward the back room, down the long hallway, we follow directly behind his head. The laughing, and now moaning, at the end of the hallway is becoming louder and louder with each step. When he finally reaches the end of the hallway, he presses his ear against the door.

Int. ClassROOM - day

We are focused on his eye here. His pupil is dilating, and staying awake is becoming a much more difficult task as the seconds tick by. His heart begins beating loudly.

Teacher...rumors continued to circulate that she had plastered the walls with gold and diamonds...

Finally, he cannot take it any more... But his heart continues to beat loudly.

Int. house - dusk

With his head placed against the door his eyes open slowly. He takes a step back from the door. This time we see his full face. He has an expression of extreme sadness. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes.

The screen goes black and the heartbeat continues to slow down until we hear nothing.

After about 5 seconds, the screen comes back very fast on the Man's face which explodes into anger. He pushes violently into the room.

Int. Bedroom - dusk

In the room, the pretty WOMAN from the picture earlier sits behind her LOVER as he puts on his shoes. The woman is

extremely shocked. Her lover is strong and looks very physically fit. They are both caught off-guard by the door swinging open, and the man standing in the entryway.

Woman(extremely surprised)Adam! I thought you weren’t going to be home until Sunday?!

Now it is revealed that the main character we have been following this whole time has a name. It is ADAM.

Adam(looking around the room)

This was a BIG mistake.

Her lover decides to chime in on the situation.

Lover(confused)

I thought you said he wasn't going to be home.

AdAMI came home early.

LoVERWell I guess it’s time I left.

ADAM(eerily calm)

You're not going anywhere.

Lover stands up and begins walking toward ADAM.

LOVERIs that right?

The woman, presumably Adam's girlfriend, is surprised at the sudden hostility shared by the two men in the room.

WomanAdam...I'm so sorry you had to find out this way.

Her lover is now right in front of Adam's face.

LOVERI think you'd best get out of my way...friend.

Adam(focused)

You're not going anywhere.

He grabs Adam's SHIRT and pushes him into the DRESSER next to the doorway causing him to fall to the ground. Woman comes to his rescue and screaming, she grabs her lover around the neck. With this he throws her back onto the bed, knocking her head against the wall with a loud thud.

LOVERI need to leave.

Lover turns around to find Adam pointing a GUN directly at his face. While he was fighting with the woman on the bed, Adam had reached into the dresser and grabbed a small HANDGUN.

ADAM(calm)

I don't think everyone is understanding me.(shaking the GUN)

BACK-OFF.

He raises his hands in the air and takes a couple steps back.

ADAM (CONT'D)I was ready to give my LIFE to her. And YOU RUINED THAT.

Lover(genuine)I'm real..really sorry bro. It was an accident, I promise...

Woman begins crying.

ADAMAn accident? See those? Those tears? They're fake. Just like everything you told me. You threw everything away and there is a consequence to that.

LOVERLook, why don't you just let me leave....

ADAM(To Woman)

He just doesn't get it, does he?

WomaN(Desperate)

We have felt distant for a long time. I wanted it to work...

With the GUN pointed at the Woman, her lover rushes Adam, to get control of the GUN. As he's trying to take the GUN from his hands, the trigger is accidently pulled. A loud bang resounds in the small room. Suddenly all of the action stops.

They both look over to the bed to see Woman laying there...soaked in blood. She was hit by the stay bullet from the gun. The smell of the smoke from the gun seems to snap both of the men in the room out of it. Lover lets go of the GUN as it drops to Adam's side. Lover runs out the door way and the house, leaving Adam alone in the room with the Woman who is lying perfectly still in a pool of her own blood on the bed.

ADAM(Shocked)

I felt like nobody cared about me anymore. (Pause)You really meant the world to me. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. But you gave it all away. This...is me taking it back.

As he stares her lifeless body, he stands completely still.

Int. Classroom - day

Were up close on Adam's eye in the classroom again as it opens. His pupil opens wide, almost removing all of the green from his eye and replacing it with black.

We hear the Teacher say,

TEACHER...historians say her last words were, "Pardon me sir, I meant not to do it." Turns out, she had accidently stepped on the executioners foot right before she was killed.

Cut to black.
