CLOSING CEREMONY 4:15 PM Emcee ▪ Wow, what a great competition! Thanks to all the people behind the

scenes who made the last few days such a success: from the Sponsors to Regional Planning Committee to the field crew and scoring table folks, to the volunteers in the Pits and the Machine Shop. Thank you volunteers! (lead applause)

▪ And Mentors, thank you. We need more of you! FIRST Teams in all programs continue to increase, and we need more dedicated people like you. You are the key to success for so many students. Let’s now have the students carry on the FIRST tradition of standing up to thank their Mentors and Coaches. They generously volunteer their time and efforts because they believe in you. Please stand up and show your appreciation. (lead applause)

▪ And now as the competition winds down, take a minute to reflect on what you’ve accomplished over this season: the Teamwork, developing relationships, learning new skills, preparing for college or the trades, accepting responsibility, having fun and building character.

▪ It’s not easy to do what you just did: design, build and compete with a sophisticated machine in a competitive atmosphere. But no matter how you and your team fared at this event, you’ve come out ahead. Because by participating in FIRST, you’ve invested in your future. And after being here this weekend surrounded by such a supportive community of culture changers, I can say the future just got a whole lot brighter!

Page 14: Day One/Friday: Opening Ceremony and … One/Friday Opening Ceremony and Qual. Match Play ... 8:38 AM Introduces Second GuestEmcee : ... meet in the case of an evacuation, ...

Thanks for all you’ve done for FIRST, and good luck in your future- I know it’s going to be a success.
